Going for a PhD in Statistics. 22k fellowship. Holy Cow this is great.
Northwestern Uni.Nice mate. Which institution?
PhD in Statistics. Some consider that math others don't.you will be a doctor of mmath
Do you even lift?
congrats. That is great.
What are the odds of two people having the same birthdate in a classroom with x people?
So what type of "career field" does this open into? What would you like to do ultimately with your PhD?

Actually I'm taking the probability actuarial exam in March for giggles. My plan if I didn't get into grad school was to go to the local herp derp school, get my masters in math while taking actuarial exams, and after I finish be an actuary. With a Phd in Statistics, he could do a load of shite.
He could become an actuary or go into investing or a whole lot of stuff. The world is all probabilistic.
Haha my favorite is the joke about the three mathmaticians. One pure, one applied, and one statistician. For a job interview they are each asked what is one-third times three. The applied mathematician goes ".9999999...", the pure math guy goes "1", and the statistician goes"That depends, what do you want it to be?"Statistics are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital. ~Aaron Levenstein
