Driver's license.
This incorrect, had my DL for 17yrs and no summons yet, although I never registered to vote so I assume that's the list they pull from.
wrong it's by voter registration. which is why I'll never get called inDriver's license.
First time being called. I have to show up for Jury Selection tomorrow morning at 7:30. What can I expect. Is there alot of down time during jury selection? This is in CA by the way.
if you don't want to go, don't show up. if you're called and asked about it, say, "what? i didn't get anything in the mail". there's no way for them to prove that you received the summons. the minute you reply back and register, you're fucked.
i did it a few years ago. it wasn't too bad. it was a landlord vs. tenant case. it lasted about three days and i was only in court for like five hours or so. it's cake if you're not on a criminal case.
best to figure out how long the case will be before agreeing to becoming a juror.

So, if you are never assigned to be interviewed or asked any questions by the end of the day, you're pretty much done and don't have to come back?
Or, if you are interviewed and end up being dismissed, you're done?
You want to get interviewed early, because then you have a chance of being dismissed. If you don't get interviewed early, then you have to sit there and wait while everyone else is interviewed.
If you don't get interviewed by the end of the day, you just have to come back the next day, and the next day. I had to show up for 4 days in a row before they finally settled on a jury they liked. I never got interviewed.
Damn. And I assume there's no way to choose when you're called for interview, so you just have to wait.
Would you say it's worth it or a good idea to lie during the interview to make yourself an undesireable juror? Like say you distrust cops or authority?
