JURASSIC WORLD v.2 (Dragonlord's Review)

Unbelievable that such a shit film could be so popular. It's just like Twilight and Transformers all over again.

The fans were sated with what they were waiting for. No surprise this movie did well.

Haha why? Did a girl drag you to it?

I don't want to talk about it.

JURASSIC WORLD Is Now 5th Highest Grossing Film Worldwide

Jurassic-World-Pratt-Howard-070515-Dragonlord.jpg

It looked like the holiday frame would give Pixar's Inside Out the advantage, but it was not to be. Jurassic World edged out the animated hit with an estimated $30.9 million to Inside Out's $30.1 million. So at least for now, Inside Out will remain the only Pixar feature to be locked out of number one at the box office. That gives it a unique status: as the highest-grossing film to never reach number one.

In four short weeks, Jurassic World has roared up the worldwide box office charts and is now the fifth highest grossing film ever. The fourth Jurassic film squeezed past Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron ($1.383.5 billion)to become the 5th biggest worldwide grosser ever with $1.385 billion. The film added $30.9 million domestically and $42 million internationally this weekend.

Now the question is: Does Jurassic World have enough teeth to chase down Furious 7? It currently sits in fourth place with $1,511.6 billion, but Furious 7 is only slightly behind Marvel's The Avengers, which is in third with $1,518.6 billion.

'Jurassic World' Edges Out 'Inside Out' Once Again; New Releases Settle for Scraps
Well, I'm happy it passed that overrated, soulless piece of uninspiring junk that is Frozen. I'm also kind of happy its beaten Inside Out twice at the box office, I'm getting tired of PIXAR shit to be honest.
How the hell did Avatar make so much money?
I think it might've been the 3-D and IMAX tickets which cost a lot more. I remember when I went to go see it at some special mega 3D theater the tickets were like $20

Well deserved, JW, you keep on doing you.

As a monster movie fan I really hope the success of Jurassic World leads to more blockbuster monster flicks. I'm usually not the type to care for the summer blockbusters but monster movies are the one genre I really enjoy that would benefit from the huge budgets.

I'm in the minority, thought it was entertaining. Lots of suspension of disbelief needed and some cheesy stuff but was fun watching the dinosaurs rampage.

The team tracking I-Rex scene was very similar to the Marines in the hive portion of Aliens. Had POV cameras, heartbeat monitors and motion trackers. Was pretty poorly executed though. No where near the suspense that was in Aliens.

Also everyone being utterly incompetent was just a cop out.

Final numbers are in and Inside Out ($29.8M) edged out Jurassic World ($29.2M) for the No.1 spot last weekend.

Same. I'm a sucker for monster flicks, especially giant monster movies.

I found the movie about as entertaining as I expected it to be. I was there to see dinosaurs and got what I came for. My big complaint would be that the climax relies on coincidence for resolution. Sure, they set it up a little bit but I wasn't impressed nor satisfied with it. No biggie.

Eh, it was bound to happen eventually.

When am I going to get a decent movie with a prehistoric crocodile in it?

Thought this movie was great. Wasn't a better made movie than original but I enjoyed it more. Chris Pratt is the fkn man, disagree with me and you are a bigot.

Lake Placid was pretty decent time burner, at least the last time I saw it. Plus it got Betty White in it.

I've seen Lake Placid, solid movie with decent effects but it doesn't take itself too seriously and as a film in general is average at best but since the standard for animal attack films, specifically croc ones, are so low it usually gets mentioned as a good example. The two movies I posted earlier are actually pretty solid, especially given their budgets.

Finally saw it last night, was decent enough, passed 2 hrs by.

Might be a bit risky bringing back the Shark-Horror movies, considering they are being mercilessly parodied on all fronts now. Genres that are being parodied are usually a sign that they are on their way out, and therefore not effective any more.
