I am a fellow WMMA hater, but:

Aldo, Yoel, DC, and Holloway all just very recently got title shots off of losses recently.

Cody was granted a shot after going 1-3 with 3 KTFO losses

I don't hate WMMA, but I think it's funny how shallow the divisions are.

As for the men getting the title shots after one losses, Yoel, DC, and Holloway losses were very close, competitive fights. Aldo is getting the title shot because of his status as a long reigning champion. Cody was a former champ.

Did you see how she held on to the guillotine and was pretty much begging for a Von Flue? Yeah, she's not bad but it has to do more with her grit than actual skills.

I'm sure Julianna didn't expect GDR of all people to know how to use that submission LOL And I don't recall anyone ever using that against Julianna so maybe she didn't know how to defend against it.

She's strong to the point she can outwrestle people like Cat Zingano. She's just too reckless and ends up in horrible positions too often. Valentina almost armbared her in the first when they fought and she was only saved by the bell. She's powerful but too vulnerable, almost like she doesn't care about defence.

Actually it was Pena who almost armbarred Valentina in the first round and I think Pena has outwrestled everyone she has fought including Valentina.

What I meant by "She's strong to the point she can outwrestle people like Cat Zingano" is that she is strong enough to wrestle people who are legit grapplers like Cat Zingano. It wouldn't make sense to highlight that she can outwrestle a mediocre grappler, as a statement like "She can outwrestle people like Megan Anderson" doesn't translate into anything meaningful.

And yes, you're right, Julianna had the armbar by the end of that round. Again, she's good to the point that she can do that to Bullet. But that fight also shows her recklessness: she rushed into the clinch and tried a knee, Val took her down, Pena got back up and... she did the same thing, ending with the same result.
