This is all red herring. This ruling is a violation of the 14th Amendment. The Federal Government should never have the right to demand State resident data that includes confidential medical records, and a whole host of other very intimate information that people give when applying for medicaid. I dont care what justification they're trying to use for it.
I get it that you're ok with authoritarian power grabs if it means less undesirables, but Im not and no amount of "rah rah those people" is gonna make me ok with it.
Since no illegal is "on medicaid" (Hakeem told me so) -- I - tink - I - C - Wat - U - R - Rly - tryng - 2 - do - herr...
So what this really comes down to is this --
illegals cannot get federal Medicaid -- period (emergency exceptions circumstances) -- and only certain states (
like my lovely MN and people abusing it's social systems) have created their own state funded programs (
MA/MNsure in our case -- which PAYS illegals healthcare to many extents) to work around that limitation. In states that don’t -- they simply don’t get "coverage" because they’re, well…
fuckin' illegal. That part isn’t complicated.
Sure as fuck would make it easier to round up
ILLEGAL people from those states that KNOW exactly where
ILLEGAL people are though -- CA (Blue), CO (Blue), IL (Blue), MN (Blue), NY (Blue), OR (Blue), WA (Blue), DC (Blue/Urban) --
Nope, I don't see any pattern or bias for states that give ILLEGALS a state option forms healthcare (paid outta state pocjet) -- None at all. Forget I mentioned it.
Which means your objection isn’t actually about the 14th Amendment --
it’s about fuckin' preventing enforcement from knowing when an illegal immigrant is receiving state-funded benefits -- You could say it that way, but it doesn't sound as nice as the bullshit gymnastics display ya just performed I 'spose.
Yer upset that data sharing makes them visible to ICE -- because visibility leads to due process --
which might fuckin' lead to deportation bye-bye like they should be. That’s not "really" a constitutional argument -- that’s an argument for shielding people from the consequences of being here unlawfully.
For shame, sir.
Lemme see if I get this right -- Maybe I fucked up somewhere, so we'll clarify:
Are you arguing that undocumented immigrants (ILLEGALS) who receive state-funded healthcare should be protected from federal immigration enforcement knowing they exist -- Is that a "YAY" or a "NAY"?
This is the core of your position. If the issue is constitutional, cite the clause. If the issue is emotional discomfort with deportation -- just say that plainly.
