I notice you were/are doing the BBB challenge. How much weight have you gained whilst doing it? Has it contributed to any injuries? Has your strength suffered? I'm considering running it later this year, after I few cycles of regular BBB.
I finished it a couple weeks ago. I had a blast doing it, the 3rd month was a struggle but completing it felt very satisfactory. Nothing feels impossible during it.
I stayed about the same weight during the whole run, but I can definitely tell my gut has slimmed down, my shoulders are wider, my pecs are much bigger, and my arms are bigger. More importantly it kept me stretching and strengthening my back so I feel like I move a lot better.
No injuries from the BBB, but I did hurt my wrist during the period by trying to add/learn how to clean on off days.
Strength wise I've added ... about 70lbs to my squat, 25lbs to my bench press, 100lbs to my deadlift, and 30lbs to my push press from start to finish. I'm sure most of that is noob gains and better form, but that's what I have written down.
I'd say give it a go. Going back to 50%1RM for the BBB seems too easy for me now. Once my wrist heals up I'll probably run another BBB challenge and hopefully continue with BBB at 60% or 70% for the forseeable future
