None. Why would I trust a random stranger who works for a large corporation or the government?

Does everyone want to know the journalists that are not respected? Virtually every journalists from ABC, NBC, and CBS.

They haven't learned a damn thing from the election or their favorability ratings. Until mass firings happen and they get a less biased staff at each network, Americans will reject them and their messaging.

I might get laughed at but I think that Joe Scarborough is a decent person. It's pretty clear that he cares about people and the country. I don't agree with him on a lot of things but his wrong-ness is still rooted in a genuine desire to do good. I don't think he lies. I do think he can sometimes interpret data incorrectly but I can work around that.
I never listened to Scarborough until I came across this YT segment and now I can’t get enough. He, Nate Bergatze, and Brian Regan are my current favorite comedians.

“This is the best version of Joe Biden we’ve ever seen and it’s not even close. And f you if you disagree.”

Most of the people mentioned strike me as commentators or columnists rather than journalists, but maybe in today's world it doesn't matter.

Peggy Noonan is an American Treasure. She's now a columnist with the Wall Street Journal and a frequent contributor to NBC and ABC talking head news shows.

Prior to life as a columnist, she was a speech writer for President Reagan, and wrote the speech Reagan delivered to the nation following the Challenger disaster. Prior to working for Reagan, she was a real journalist writing and editing news for papers in Boston.
Nice one. I really like Peggy Noonan.

This program is apropos for this thread, I think.

"CBC's investigative documentary program, The Fifth Estate, turned 50 this year. To commemorate this golden anniversary, a panel of distinguished journalists take us behind the stories and to the current threats facing their profession. As the media landscape continues to shrink, who will hold the powerful to account?"

These are real journalists. Not talking heads who make videos and post them on social media for outrage-porn like that tool at the top of this page.

I respect those assholes who film themselves provoking cops hoping to catch a beating and sue the department.

I don’t respect their actions, but I have to respect their giant brass balls and their willingness to try and make a living while working with a few cards short of a full deck. Is is so juvenile, dangerous, and a waste of tax payers money but god damn their commitment to attempt being taken to the woodshed in hopes of winning a case vs. corrupt system is hilarious.

Hespect.

Tim Pool. I remember when someone pointed out that there was a story with opinions inserted in it on his site that was supposed to be straight news... he lost his shit on air and demanded it was immediately fixed.

Also, for his willingness to openly shit on both sides of politics and call out all the dirty tricks and manipulations used by media companies and activists masking as journalists.

Check out the TDS at the bottom of The Guardian's articles. Hmm wonder why they didn't do this with the previous administration? It couldn't be because they're biased, right?

Why you can rely on the Guardian not to bow to Trump – or anyone

I hope you appreciated this article. Before you move on, I wanted to ask whether you could support the Guardian’s journalism as we begin to cover the second Trump administration.

As Trump himself observed: “The first term, everybody was fighting me. In this term, everybody wants to be my friend.”

He’s not entirely wrong. All around us, media organizations have begun to capitulate. First, two news outlets pulled election endorsements at the behest of their billionaire owners. Next, prominent reporters bent the knee at Mar-a-Lago. And then a major network – ABC News – rolled over in response to Trump’s legal challenges and agreed to a $16m million settlement in his favor.

The Guardian is clear: we have no interest in being Donald Trump’s – or any politician’s – friend. Our allegiance as independent journalists is not to those in power but to the public. Whatever happens in the coming months and years, you can rely on the Guardian never to bow down to power, nor back down from truth.

How are we able to stand firm in the face of intimidation and threats? As journalists say: follow the money. The Guardian has neither a self-interested billionaire owner nor profit-seeking corporate henchmen pressuring us to appease the rich and powerful. We are funded by our readers and owned by the Scott Trust – whose only financial obligation is to preserve our journalistic mission in perpetuity.

What’s more, we make our fearless, fiercely independent journalism free to all, with no paywall – so that everyone in the US can have access to responsible, fact-based news.

With the new administration boasting about its desire to punish journalists, and Trump and his allies already pursuing lawsuits against newspapers whose stories they don’t like, it has never been more urgent, or more perilous, to pursue fair, accurate reporting. Can you support the Guardian today?

If you can, please consider supporting us just once, or better yet, support us every month with a little more. Thank you.

John Carreyrou is the one most responsible for the Theranos story getting exposed. His book about it, Bad Blood, is an extremely good read.
