not really son, he could be fighting Hrgovic or Zang, who are actual proper boxers, as a Wilder fan though, you wouldnt know much about that would you
As a boxing fan I know that Francis showed he was a legit HW contender by battering and out boxing Fury at times. Atleast to objective & sensible people.
Then again, a bias grumpy nag like you wouldn't know too much about that....would you?

Zhang & Hrgovic have unfinished business.
Plus Francis is a much bigger & a more fan friendly fight.
It actually helps the sport and will get either Zhang or Hrgovic more money if they get a title shot. Zhang is cool with fighting Wilder. Hrgovic hasn't exactly set the world on fire....

Joshua is no longer a champion & he is not fighting Francis for a title. Lmao. So doesn't make sense to enforce an imaginary mandatory for LESS money, less views, less press, & less fan appeal because of some misplaced subjective pecking order. Especially when Francis proved he was better and a tougher opponent than Fury has faced since maybe Wlad...lmao.

Joshua is no Lennox that's for sure
Well Joshua unified the titles in 4/5 years it took Lewis almost a decade and that’s because he was stopped twice by lesser guys that Joshua fought .

The only reason he was never undisputed in 2018 was because Wilder ducked him he avenged his losses right away unlike Lewis as well . Lewis actually took Rahmans trainer Steward after he lost that fight imagine if Joshua took say Usyks trainers after the first loss he’d get butchered . Lol

Nope. Barry Hearn Eddie hearns dad came out and specifically said Shelly finkel wanted the fight but barry told his son Eddie that this is a 100 million dollar fight and they should wait.

Yes it is very hard to understand & yes you did discredit Francis making one of the smartest financial moves in MMA history. All while fighting the absolute best boxers. Fans should be thankful for that. Its not like he stalled and took money to fight lower level comp.

He's not just a "0-1 MMA fighter." He arguably gave the absolute best HW of this current era fits. Hurt him badly multiple times. Arguably even won more rounds against him than any of his other opponents. That makes him a viable HW champion contender....not just a MMA fighter with a 0-1 boxing record....please
The only part of Ngannou I'm criticizing is him not earning this and it not being a logical matchup. He made a spirited effort in losing to Fury in a 10 rounder and that's it. I'd personally rather watch one of two Olympians with actual boxing careers that I've been watching work their way up for a while get the chance. If you dont want to understand that then whatever. I don't care.

You sound ridiculous. Dropping and winning rounds is 100x more than "spirited."
It the literal definition of competitive. Not just competitive on the HW world stage. But competitive with the most elite guy.

Why do people keep saying Francis didn't earn a fight with AJ. AJ IS NOT THE CHAMPION. There was nothing to earn. AJ was written off and then stayed active against mid level non name worthy competition.
Francis earned a top name with his performance against Fury.

If you want to say Francis didn't earn the Fury fight .....sure that was logical. However, you can't put the cat back in the bag. The fight happened and Francis arrived on the world stage.

Plus Zhang is just fine fighting Wilder or even settling his unfinished buisness with Hrgovic.
This is like getting 2 pretty great fights instead of one disappointing AJ vs unpopular challenger

I did, I thought it was stupid, he sure proved it wasn't and good luck to him, always been a fan of his.

And yes he's a contender for sure, he has to be after his performance against Fury. We'll probably find out against Joshua how out of shape Fury was, he's always in supreme nick. I'd say Joshua wins comfortably but honestly I have no real idea, Ngannous effort against Fury astounded me.

Lets hope josh can maintain the confidence. If an mma fighter can hang with the cream of boxing, kinda makes boxing redundant:oops:
None of them are the cream of boxing. They are place holders in a con job, Usyk excepted. He's a cruiser who didnt meet his match, again.

I don't think Emmanuel Steward ever trained Rahman. He did train Oliver McCall for the first Lennox fight which was 7 years before the Rahman fight. And Lennox did avenge the Rahman loss in the immidiate rematch with a devastating KO. He did stop McCall too in the bizzare rematch, avenging both losses with stoppages is impressive.

Steward was mcalls trainer, but you are right, he pretty much switched straight after he lost to McCall

Yea I wasn’t sure I always get them mixed up I haven’t actually posted about that in years ,people forget the one thing Klitschko and Lewis have in common is Manny Steward saved their careers ,it’s one instance where a trainer makes the fighters .

But I find it funny ppl love dumping on Joshua they dont realize Lewis not only needed a legendary trainer but he had more trainers then Joshua he had a few early in his own career when things weren’t going so smoothly as he wanted that’s why you see him as one of the first ones to comment about anyone needing a new trainer if they have a bad performance . Lol

Lewis actually changed trainers after his 19th fight he fired John Davenport and hired Pepe Correa because he couldn’t stop Levi Billups meanwhile Joshua stops Klitschko in his 19th fight and unifies titles so I guess in a sense Joshua is not Lewis . Lol

Ngannou gets a chance to prove he is a decent HW boxer and not just a guy Fury didn't train for and took lightly. Tony Joshy will be looking to make a statement that Fury failed to make.

Interesting bit here from Ngannou

“I think most likely [I'll be] knocking Anthony Joshua out,” Ngannou said. “I think that he’s easier to go down than Fury. I mean, not that he’s not a strong fighter. He’s a very tough fighter, but he’s easier to send down than Fury, and it’s harder for him to get back up than Fury.”

He seems to think that Joshua gets dropped easier than Fury. Not sure why. Fury's been down more and against several different opponents, one or two of which were feather-fisted. Joshua has only been down against a couple opponents (Ruiz & Klitschko). I also have no idea why he thinks it's harder for Joshua to get back to his feet? He's done it every time. Even in the first Ruiz fight he was on his feet when it was stopped.

I think he needs to forget about any rematch, it’ll look the same as the last fight. He’ll win early rounds but Joyce will catch up with him. He managed to keep wilder honest but Joyce does not care about Parker’s power. He took a horrible beating in their last fight, I just think Joyce matches up terribly with joe because he can’t keep him honest

He’s in for a rude awakening if fury is the hardest puncher he’s been in with. I can see this being a brutal beating if I’m being honest.

AJ quit against Ruiz... Fury has never been close to quitting...

I wouldn't discount that fact so easily.

Ngannou was talking about being knocked down and literally getting back up to your feet. Not about "quitting." Quitters don't protest to the ref angrily. Nor do they rematch the guy they "quit" against immediately and beat them.

The perception comes from the number of times that AJ has been wobbled in a fight. It happens in quite a bit and against guys who aren’t nearly his size.

AJ has been wobbled on several occasions but that isn't what Ngannou said. He specifically said "floored" and Joshua has only been down against a couple opponents (though he was down 4x against Ruiz in their first fight). Altogether AJ has hit the canvas a total of 5 times in his career. Fury has been down 7 times against a bunch of different opponents. Two of them were feather-fisted (Pajkic & Cunningham, the latter of which was a natural cruiserweight).
