If somebody can crack Holloway is Emmett but Max is still far more skilled however he tends to eat shots in most of his fights and thats a bad idea against a guy like Emmett.

If Max fights smart he should dominate Emmett but Emmett's power would still be threat all the fight.

Seems a good fight to me and made a lot of sense considering their rankings.

No one can blame Emmett for hunting for the biggest fight possible. He is 38yo, and has lost 2 of his last 3. He needs to make as much money as he can before it's time to move on, which is sooner than later.

Holloway is in a sticky spot in the division, but he is in a different position than Emmett, both rankings wise, and drawing power wise. So it's not a fight that makes much sense for Holloway.

Holloway should be fighting Yair or a big name at LW.

Holloway has already beaten Yair/ I like the match up with Emmett but if Max isn't interested then he should move up.

Can't blame Emmett for the call-out, but he's shooting for the moon if we are being realistic.

Max is probably never getting a title fight again unless it's the BMF title - he's an absolute legend, arguably the GOAT FW, at this stage it's only about fighting big names/big money fights.

Even though stylistically I think this would be a rather easy fight for Holloway it's high-risk, low-reward; does beating Emmett get him a title shot? A big pay-day? Add to his legacy? It does none of that, just puts him in with a super-dangerous power puncher that he is supposed to beat with his speed/length/volume.

For guys like Emmett there are no short-cuts to the title; he's likely going to have to fight like the winner of Yair/Ortega or Allen/Evloev or maybe even Giga. But he's not getting the premier fight in the division that isn't a title fight on the basis of murdering Bryce Mitchell.
