News Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi UFC 315

The UFC really hates Jose.

<mma1>

Bro got a BW title shot coming off 2 losses and having no wins at BW.

Then 3 mid level fighters before another step up in Merab.

Then a another mid level guy in Mario. Having lost that, he's getting another mid level guy instead of just being thrown to some killer.

That doesn't sound like hate to me lol. Sounds like love.

Aldo us being treated like a fringe prospect trying to break into the top 15 XD

It's an extremely winnable fight and he's coming off a "loss". I feel Aldo is obessessed with the lifestyle. He's retired like twice already and pushing it. I hope there's still a place for him

You would rather they just kept feeding him to top guys so he can get handled easily over and over?

He's not as good as he was, but he's still very decent. What we don't want is for him to fight all the top guys and go on a Tony Ferguson-like run lol.

Aldo fans: OMG UFC SUCKS REEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yeah, Aldo fans should want him to really start his momentum up again, basically from nothing, so he can build up and go on that last title run they all want from him

Yeah, if they don't think he can beat Zahabi, I don't know why they would want to see him in there with "better" guys. Zahabi is good. 5 fight win streak, top 15 ranked, and only a year younger than Aldo. I don't see a problem with it. A good fight up the rankings for Zahabi and a fair one for Aldo.

UFC hates to give Aldo any more legacy fights. We could've had so many with him and other vets with similar mileage

Firas Zahabi must have lost his shit when they got the offer.

It must be so crazy to see your little brother fight a living legend.

I don't see much in zahabi. Seems like a very winnable fight for Aldo

Wasn't Dana just floating O'Malley vs. Aldo like less then a week ago?

<{vega}>

Fucking wolf-ticket selling motherfuckers....
No he wasn't. That was a misinterpretation by online retards, & then people like you were too lazy to listen to the actual quote, which was Dana talking about Merab/O'Malley II.

lots of griping about the matchmaking, but this is going to be a cracker. The later boxing-oriented Aldo is great at touching people and comboing off the jab, he's a pressure boxer that'll oblige Zahabi's eagerness to counter. Probably will look like the opposite of Bautista-Aldo

So weird to Aldo fighting these types of guys (not that I want to see him in with the top guys as at this point he'd get a whipping).

As others have said, if he can't run through (or loses) he should retire.

The competition is slowly getting more "can" like for Aldo and he should retire soon regardless - at some point one of these lower level guys will starch him.

TVA sports says it's confirmed, and tristar guys and ufc canada have been posting this, so I'm assuming it's true.

No offense to Zahabi but why do they keep booking out of retirement Aldo against random ass fuckers? We are lucky to have this guy back. Why isnt there a desire to book interesting fights?

IIRC, Aldo wants to fight out his contract in order to go box. Hence why the UFC is giving him the Nate Diaz treatment

Feeder fights are fine by me

I just remembered a thread title of “Sean O'Malley x Jose Aldo ''They wanna fight each other, people wanna see it'' - Dana White” but I never read the thread so didn’t watch the video.

Sorry for being lazy - my credentials as an investigative journalist on the Sherdog message board are hereby revoked.

Idk why he takes these fights against young up and comers. I know he’s a live dog in these but I wish they put him against some fun vets at 35 and 45.
Aiemann is 37. Not exactly a young up and comer despite his recent momentum.

UFC needs to stop matching Aldo up with bums, this is just ridiculous.

You know when it was announced that Aldo was coming back I thought we’d see some fun matchups such as

Dominick Cruz

Edson Barboza at FW

Figgy

But nah instead they got Aldo playing gatekeeper he should fire his manger

Hmmm people seem to have a weird perspective toward Aldo. I’ll agree that never matching him
up against Cruz was a miss. Even if they did match him against Cruz, there was obviously a very good chance that Cruz wouldn’t make it to the fight. But like how many interesting fights are there to make for him, from fighters that are available to fight him?
Also everyone is acting as though he’s getting his ass kicked in his losses recently. The Yan fight was the last time he was finished, in what was a pretty competitive back and forth beforehand. That was his second fight at BW against a surging Yan. Since then, his only losses, were him getting stalled up against the cage.
You pretty much have to finish him to win decisively at all. It’s not as though he’s had a performance where he’s taken a prolonged beating on his way to losing a decision. Also he’s only been finished by elite competition.
Anyway, he still looks really good and his boxing offense/defense is better than it’s ever been. I, for one, just enjoy watching that man work.
