Jose Aldo thinks Ngannou made big mistake

They are probably about even.

I literally do not understand why people act like Ngannou is a star. There is literally no proof he is. People assume he is because he fits the big, exciting, heavyweight knockout artist built like a beast, but the reality is different.

His PPV’s haven’t sold much, his instagram followers or other social media engagement is pretty low. He’s 35. Anecdotally, not many of my casual friends know much of him and nor are they excited by him.

he barely speaks English.

I just don’t understand who told Francis he is a star. He isn’t.

^ This.. not a stab at the guy.. i'm just not going to walk in to my boss and demand 3 times my salery.. i'm paid market value..

Francis is not in that 5 percent. look at his ppv sales or social media numbers.

Uh yes he is. Look at how many PPVs he sold when he headlined for the title. That's an objective fact.

Or are you saying he's not in the top five percent of boxers going by social media numbers? He has 4.6 million instagram followers. There are 20k pro boxers. So find me 1k pro boxers with more than 4.6 million instagram followers. I'll wait.

We shall find out soon enough, he'll either sign a big deal in the next few months or the chances to do it will decrease dramatically.

What hurts him, I think, is his chill demeanor. I don't hear the guy making too many waves, calling out boxers, keeping his name out there. He doesn't even wear a fur coat and I think he could pull it off better than Conor.

Big Frank should have stayed with the UFC. I get that Boxing was always his dream, but he had a good thing going with MMA. I hope things work out for Francis though and that he doesn't regret his decision.
I believe part of his decision was anger against the UFC. And he wouldn't let it go.

And quit using his most effective striking technique after Anderson snapped his leg.

A lot of people have no idea how devastating of a kicker Aldo used to be. Pound for pound the most brutal kicker.
Aldo stopped kicking consistenly way before Anderson snapped his leg.

It doesn't take a genius to realize Ngannou is a moron, who could use some financial management. The way he reasons about these issues is worthy of a neanderthal.
Yeah, I wanted him to fight Jones but I could understand if he had something lined up before leaving. When negotiations ended and he went on Ariel's and said he haven't talked to anyone outside of the ufc and he was doing the negotiations himself it became apparent to me that this guy is borderline retarded and he threw his career away.

Minor foot swelling and no broken bones or surgeries point to not very bad.

Aldo pulled out of title fights five time, mostly for "undisclosed injuries", I'm sure he's had a couple of surgeries.

Pretty sure everyone that’s been in the game as long as him has had a few.

Didn't Aldo ask for his release so he can box?
Yes. But his MMA career was pretty much over at that point.

He also started his boxing career fighting a complete can and then Jeremy Stephens in a Gamebred event. He isn't gunning for the world champions or 8 figures paydays.

The draw did seem to be more appealing when he was champion.

Aldo already exhausted his potential in MMA though. He also know he won't get crazy pay in boxing like other fighters and only do so out of love for competition imo.

He can't compete in MMA anymore cause his body is probably too messed up. He doesn't even use leg kicks anymore, and his coach couple years ago said Aldo's leg is messed up that's why he doesn't leg kick Max during their bouts and has more boxing approach.
this, exactly. Nothing else to add
nice post

In other words, Ngannou was fucking dumb and he screwed himself for being a Diva. Nothing new.

People may know who he was but no one wanted to buy his fights if it wasn't against McGregor. Ngannou could undoubtedly make a lot more money as a free agent than Aldo ever could.

Doubt it. Just the following Aldo has in Brazil alone probably tops whatever following Ngannou has globally.

at this state of the world, Francis should have stayed with the UFC imo.

Francis when he was expecting a big payday vs Fury or Wilder & ends up fighting Anatoly Malykhin in ONE FC or Bruno Cappeloza in PFL:

<TheWire1>
The more he waits the worse his brand takes a hit a couple more years and he'll be 45 getting brain damage in some d league

I think Ngannou's career was about done with how slow he was recovering from that knee injury.

Instagram followers don’t buy ppv. I’d argue he has a large amount of African followers who can’t afford ppv’s.

The cards he headlined all sold poorly. He isn’t a draw.

show me a consistent history of him selling ppv. Oh wait you can’t
