The only reason I even brought up a scripture verse is because I think it's ridiculous the hate Jones gets. Dude can't take a dump without someone making a hate thread on it. No different than any other fan defending a fighter he enjoys watching. I get it, he's engaged or married. But what guy hasn't done something like that?

Second, if the dude is going to make up a scripture verse that talks about how Jon shouldn't be lusting after some virtual casino dealers, I might as well give them the right ammunition for their blind hate.

Third, it has nothing to do with trying to be wise. It makes me laugh how many times people mock scripture on these forums, and when one person corrects them or tries to get them in the right ball park, they're the arrogant douche and they're attacked for their faith...amazing.

And lastly, I'd love to break down scripture the way it's supposed to be brought. The short story of that particular scripture is that the "religious people" were trying to find a loophole in the 10 commandments. They figured that looking at women lustfully wasn't considered breaking the the commandment of "thou shall not commit adultery." Jesus had to break it down for them and set a higher standard. But, this is an MMA forum. It was not meant to be a time for a bible class, just sarcastically defending a fighter who gets way too much hate. I mean really? Someone actually went out of their way to make a thread about Jones being funny at the casino.

I never meant for it to be taken to this level. And self-righteous confusion?! Dude, I'm one of the biggest horndogs around! I was more than happy leaving this at the lowest level possible...discussing MMA and sarcastically going back and forth with other sherdoggers.

When I read your other posts afterwards I kind of figured I had you pegged wrong

At first it came off like you just intentionally disregarded that he was making an obvious joke and followed it up with basically "that's the wrong scripture dumbass" which obviously as a Christian I prefer other Christians don't do. When I post as me I am only speaking for me. And my shortcoming are my own. When discussing scripture I feel I have an obligation as a Christian to do so in a manner befitting.

In any event, I felt it would be dishonest to make the edit afterwards so I figured i would just wait to see how you responded and go from there. I agree with a lot of what you said. And thanks for not getting all worked up about my initial post. Again, had i read your later ones i would have understood how you meant it
 
He really oughtta make up his mind, is he gonna be the son of a preecher man or go full out bad guy. I recommend the latter.
