Vera's grappling was never very good, could be Stipe has dropped off a lot but his wrestlign previous way WAY better than Vera's.

I agree but only partially.

The question is, can Jon avoid getting into a boxing match with Stipe? Aside from Ngannou in the rematch, everyone got smothered by Stipe's pressure. Cormier had a great game plan by constantly putting Stipe into the clinch. The problem for Jon is, he doesn't have the quickness of Cormier to land those uppercuts.

If Jon's plan is to extend his hand and move his head back, he is in trouble because that's when Stipe cracks his opponents with his right hand.
