• The UFC was doing a UK PPV on a US timezone basis with Leon/Belal as the headliner that they knew nobody in the UK would stay till 5am for so needed Tom to strengthen it
• Tom had already previously lost to Blaydes and wanted to avenge it
• It was in Tom's hometown so he wanted to fight someone
• Tom was offered truck loads of money to help the UFC instead of waiting for Jon

You guys lap it up as though it wasn't made due to personal and financial factors instead of who actually deserved title fights. Which btw, also goes all the way back to Tom getting his own title shot coming off just beating Tybura of all people.
