Hmmm.. in one corner, we have Helwani saying the UFC met Jones' financial demands... but here, we have Chael saying it's 12mil..

Jones hasn't turned down the fight. I'll never believe it. If he had I'm sure the UFC would be moving on by now. Whatever the money is Jones is going to be compensated better than most anyone ever has. UFC doesn't want to lose out on this fight like they did with Jones/Ngannou.

Yeah, he didn't turn it down. And to make it worse for fans, he is confident. He is barely entertaining them, when he's shown, he is literally happy and genuine. Tom on the other hand, struggles to show he is wounded by JJ, that he got his ego hurt. The clip with Chael and DC laughing when Tom said let's move on from JJ, shows they know exactly what Tom is going through, they have been there.

And the fans frustration is just that, they want JJ to lose to they can feel better for whatever reason. That's the paradox of JJ:

If he fights and wins : he’s a villain, cheat, “hasn’t evolved,” or “got lucky”

If he doesn’t fight : he’s scared, ducking, a fraud, running from Tom

If he loses (hypothetically) : he’s finally humble, worthy, and “at peace”


They only want to respect Jon is if he falls.
They can’t love a JJ who keeps standing, no matter how flawed he is.
