Ok, so Dana is clearly protecting Jones from Polish Power. He is scared his homeboy gets knocked out and then it will probably be hard for UFC to market Błachowicz as a champion. I get it there is plenty of polish fans around the world, but Dana and UFC is all businness and not best vs best fighting.

Give Santos his credit. He made it hard for Jon Jones to use his wrestling. Jon Jones obviously thought he was safe doing what he was doing, and I had it 5-0 for Jon Jones.

Fighters just don't decide "I am not going to use my wrestling..." or "I am not going to use my BJJ..." If a fighter isn't doing something, it is probably because the opponent is making him second guess himself.

This is why fighters have corner-people, because spectators can see something that the fighter is not seeing. Similarly, corner-people don't see what the fighter is seeing and feeling.

Conclusions, when a fighter is not able to use a skill it has demonstrated in the past, then we need to give the opponent its credit for negating that skill.

jon chose not to wrestle...If he can take down gus and dc, he can certainly take down santos...I'm sure his corner was telling him to take santos down...

Jones went 2/16 in his takedown attempts vs Gus in their fights, not exactly a great TD %. And the first TD happened in the 5th round when both where exhausted and the second when Gus was injured.

Jones didn't try to takedown Santos more because he was scared of Santos's power in the close range, is out of his prime and isn't likely on PEDs anymore, so his wrestling is not as effective anymore.
