I have to think that Game didn't expect Ngannou to wrestle him at all. Surely he expect Jones to come in with a wrestling heavy attack. Sometimes expectations are everything.

True. But we don't know for sure either.

We don't know how good Jone's wrestling is now. Or his speed. Or his cardio. Or his strength. We don't know a lot of things.

I know one thing. Jones in his prime was arguably best mma wrestler of all time. But his wrestling hasn't looked good in years before a three year lay off. So where does it leave us? No one can know for sure.

Gane is the most gifted athlete Jones fought. I think Jones almost always was a better athlete, perhaps apart from against Reyes against whom he lost in my opinion, and maybe Gus. If Gane didn't look so bad against Ngannou wrestling...but he did.

No one knows what he will look like with added weight and trying to wrestle a big, tall, fast, athletic dude like Gane. I guess we will find out.

One thing about kicks is that, Jones is arguably best at grabbing a kick and taking people down. We will see how it goes, kicking game. Gane is very good at that, arguably best kicker in heavyweight history. I love Crocop as much as anybody, but Gane's a freak.

I think the truth here is both guys looked relatively similar in size and neither guy looked “shook” they both look like they are ready to go, which is good for us.
