You can’t just have two “champions” in the same division, in the same promotion, fighting different contenders. The belts become completely meaningless. Even boxing has not gotten that ridiculous. The WBO, WBA, etc. would at least demand champs in the same division fight or one them has to vacate.

Jones fans are so totally unhinged that they have completely divested themselves of all intellectual honesty and integrity to protect their psychological investment in someone they have never even met. A paper could be written about the psychological state of such a person. It’s an amazing pathology.

Don't forget that Jones stunned Stipe, BAD, and had Stipe standing, grinning, staring off into space. . . and then Jones unloaded and un defended broadside shot to the side of Stipe's head, with time to think, aim, etc., and it only further wobbled Stipe, who then recovered and wasn't even dropped

But yeah, that spinning back kick was [chef's kiss] one of his all-time coolest knockouts for sure, but people don't measure KO power by body shots (although I'd be all for that).

Whittaker Vs yoel, bisping Vs gsp in the same year before unification simply because they wanted bisping Vs gsp for MSG so they made Whittaker Vs yoel an interim title fight for that reason. That July ppv didn't have a title fight so they just made Colby/RDA + Whittaker/Romero interims.

Jones just defended his title. That means the "interim" belt has expired. There's no rule or requirement that he fight the person who was given, for no particular reason, an "interim" belt. They don't mean anything.

That's why Jones is the "undisputed" HW champ right now.
