Jones beats Fedor 9/10 But...

Fedor won 18 straight after becoming the world champion averaging 2.5 fights a year in that span.

In those 18 fights he fought:

#2 Big Nog
#3 Mirko
#2 Arlovksi
#4 Sylvia
#6 Hunt
#7 Rogers
#10 Coleman
#10 Randleman

That's 4 fights against top 5 HWs in 7 years and 8 fights agaisnt top 10 HWs in 7 years.

How the fuck is this not consistently fighting top competition?

Show me one HW champion who has averaged 2.5 fights per year in the last 7 years.

Show me one HW champion who has fought 8 top 10 HWs in the last 7 years.

Prime juiced up Jon Jones couldn't beat Gustaffson or Reyes but you're assuming it's a lock that he'd beat a 2005 Fedor who was better than both of them and you base this on how Fedor fought from 2011- 2020.
Delusional and desperate and dishonest.

Lol so by your own delusional estimation, Fedor took part in a fight featuring the world's 2 top HWs exactly 3 times

Stipe's last 8 fights were as such: Save for possibly LHW champ DC and JDS---who was no worse than 4 depending on Reem/Werdum/Injured Cain...and Stipe had just beaten Reem and Werdum

Watchinhg you and your alt give each other "likes" is friggin hilarious

And yea, sorry @BFoe No justifiable reason on earth for AA to have been ranked 2nd going into the Fedor fight. Mir had just ko'd perennial 2 Nog and Lesnar was UFC champ

So by your logic, BJ is a bum because he has a record of 16-14?? You’re trolling right?
BJ at least has wins over legit competition, and most of his losses came against elite comp.

Randleman has never beaten anyone of note minus 2 fighters, and has lost to the likes of Kazuhiro Nakamura, Ron Waterman,Tom Erikson.

I actually think BJ was overrated too, so not exactly the best example to use. But again, you are ignoring the fact that Randleman only has 2 wins against note worthy opponents, yet you still think he could outwrestle Jones for a win lol.

Actually one fight prior he was on a 0-2 skid lol

Yep. More importantly, dude keeps saying Rogers was #6. He was only ranked #9-10 for a few short months - ever. It was a temporary and favorable ranking that was not indicative of his skill level or accomplishments. Same as Hunt being ranked going into a "title fight" vs Fedro with a 5-2 professional MMA record, coming off a loss.

Those are two of his elite top 10 wins that they cling to so desperately while trying to discredit any other fighters' competition or accomplishments. It's so bizarre and alarming. Just be real, homies.

Jj is and on pedds he will never be goat and at beginning of ufc this sport was on pets and is now by some fighters. Yes fighters are more skilled now like in football Maradona would not do today what he did in 80,s.but Fedor still beats jj same way Maradona would beat today players but just not convincingly as in past

Apart from Mirko and Rizzo (although both were outdated fighters), you really expect me to look at this list and be in awe <Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>(let alone have me think that these archaic fighters like Randleman would dominate today).

Please never change Pride stans.

no he wouldnt.. please tell me who had to do that... are you just making up events that never happened.. stop just stop

that is what happened in PrideFC. To fight for the title, one must had to go through multiple fighters in one night. I didn’t even include Crocop in there. That’s another obstacle Jones would have to face.

When all things are considered like inherent advantages and disadvantages Fedor > Jones in every aspect, p4p and especially sportsmanship and being a good role model.

Hunt fought for the title off a loss.

Jones wouldn't get past this obstacle?

Fedor > Jones in every aspect, p4p and especially sportsmanship and being a good role model.

This is a classic example of fanboy logic.

No reasoning to why Fedor is better other than I like him as a person. He makes me feel warm and cuddly inside….

By that logic, A teletubby is your #1 p4p fighter

We’re talking about badass fighters that don’t lose…this isn’t a sportsman pageant. We’re looking for who is constantly the best fighter of all time.

Fedor/ GSP fan girls lose that conversation everytime…so you HAVE to say scream…Jon’s is a bad man that takes drugs, we don’t care if he’s the best, we want our white knight

no buddy, i stated that imo Fedor (prime of course) is better in every aspect of mma, considering the advantages that Jon has had over his division and the disadvantages that Fedor had in his. P4P fedor is better. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion and yours is different, but its not a fanboy take...its based on reality. But hey I wont argue with some enabler fangirl of a cheater that has the backing of an entire corrupt organization. That would be like arguing with a teletubby.

Fangirl..teletubby…I see you took everything I said and very unoriginally regurgitated the same thing back to me, only you aren’t naturally clever so it just sounds unauthentic.

I’m sorry I even commented to you. I feel bad for picking on somebody that can’t even properly defend themselves or make a sizable point

Jones beats any Fedor that has ever fought on US soil 10 times out of 10, 99 times out of 100.

Even the old untested Fedor from Pride would lose 9 out of 10 to Jones.

No knock on Fedor, he was the best in the world at the time but the sport has evolved so much since then.

Which version of Jones? HW or law? Picogram?

I don’t count the loss against Hammill for Jones. I don’t think any serious fan does, although there’s more legitimacy to that “loss” than there is in Fedor’s “loss” to TK.
That's delusional. Fedor lost because of a doctor stoppage due to damage from a legal strike. There's nothing at all illegitimate about that loss. Jones would have legitimately lost to Sonnen if the ref had noticed Jones's toe injury.

Jones, on the other hand, was disqualified for an illegal strike that had absolutely nothing to do with why Hamill was unable to continue - Hamill had a separated shoulder, which doesn't happen from 12-6 elbows to the head but does happen from all the mauling Hamill took before that elbow - and that came well after any sane referee would have stopped the fight. Even after the failure to timely call the TKO, the referee should have docked Jones a point then awarded Jones the win by TKO according to the rules in place.

No, the strike was illegal in Fedor’s case. TK missed the right hook, it was his elbow that cut Fedor. Elbows to the head were illegal in RINGS. Was clearly unintentional
so should’ve been an NC.

Re: Jones, I don’t consider that a defeat either. But I disagree on your handling. The way Mazzagatti should’ve handled it is to immediately call time. Send both fighters to neutral corners, Hammill gets 5 mins to recover. If he can continue, the fight is restarted on the feet, Mazzagatti could take a point if he chooses. If Hammill wasn’t able to continue, it’s either an NC or DQ depending on whether the ref thought it was intentional.
