Jones beats Fedor 9/10 But...

Big foot silva and Matt Mitrione would KTFO any version of Jones easily.

All those attacks Fedor used to get on people like arm bars from bottom, sweeps, reversals, they don’t happen as much in elite MMA anymore for whatever reason. I’m not sure if it has to do with overall skill increasing or the opposite. It seems tactically safer to be a wrestler on top with GNP. Because of that, I would probably favor Jones in his prime. But it’s a tough fight either way. Fedor definitely beats current, fat Jones. In their primes, it’s kind of like GSP vs Silva in the sense of technical superiority, fighting safe and good defense vs speed, power, reflex, killer instinct etc. But idk, tough call.
Fedor had ungodly speed in his hips as well. Even during that time you didn't really see other fighters pulling off armbars like that. Up until the Vitor fight I bet Jones hardly worried about getting subbed like that at all.

And even though Vitor was almost Vitor "Gracie"

His ground game has always been... I'll try to say it nicely... God Awful.

If Fedor got an armbar in that deep. Zero chance anyone is getting out.

You mean a TRT Bigfoot who outweighed Fedor by 50-60 pounds? lol - That would be like Jose Aldo fighting Chael Sonnen.

Bigfoot Silva was a freak show fighter. He sucked. He beat Fedor and then went 3-12-1 in MMA. The Bigfoot loss was worse than losing to a Middleweight.

I'll take the guy I've never seen lose versus the guy I've seen brutally finished many times. MMA math still undefeated.

Hilarious that we're still talking about this fat guy who got KOed by a 40 year old middleweight, nearly got KOed by Fujita, and nearly got submitted by Mark fucking Hunt(lmao) as the greatest at anything. Most overrated fighter in the history of combat sports, and by quite a comfortable margin.
Quoted for sheer lunacy.

Come on.....the Silva that fought Fedor was a juiced up 285 pound monster with a black belt in BJJ. He beat AA, Browne, and Reem. Went toe to toe with Hunt.....then popped for elevated test. Once he was forced off TRT he was nowhere near the same fighter that he was before that.

TRT Bigfoot was a forced to be reckoned with simply b/c of his size and cardio on test. AGain.....show me any dude who can get a BJJ black belt off of them when outweighed by 50-60 pounds.

Like Reyes? like Gustafsson? One-legged santos?

Believe in the UFC-hype machine, Jones sucks, only entered HW as soon as Francis left
Yeah

They ALL LOST

This new fantasy narrative is fucking crazy

"well in my my, in my feelings. Santos and Gus actually won. They won I tell ya!"

Imagine ghinking 2004, no drug testing, open weight , pro wrestler with masks farces represented anything close to the pinnacle of mma

I love this place

He had Hunt belly-down in an armbar and couldn't finish lol

based on what? We don't know much about current version of Jones except that he finished Gane in a few minutes.

I am not sure how Fedor's grappling would look like against Jones, but I don't think he can take him down and I think Jones would win the striking.

Belly down armbars are a bit iffy. There is a lot of "play" with the pressure.
(I know, I can comfortably say armbars are my thing)

Also stubby armed people are much harder to armbar than tall lengthy guys.

Vitor's against Jones was about as deep as you can get an armbar.

Oh you mean the same TRT silva that got KtFO easily by daniel cormier in his next foight after demolishing fedor?

Prime Jones got beaten and sent to the hospital during the peak of his steroid use by Alexander Gustaffson.

The same Gustaffson who went life and death with post double knee surgery Shogun just one fight prior to that.

According to the losers on this forum Gustaffson was better than prime, 27 year old Fedor.

You be the judge:

Life and death huh?

Gus beat Shogun 30-27 pn 2 cards and 30-26 on the ofher...but when have facts ever stopped your delusions lol.

Shogun had dominations of Forrest and Vera sandwiched around the Hendo war coming in and was barely 31

And yes, Gus beats Fedor rather easily

Shogun fought baliantly and had a couple moments but was domnated
