Economy Jon Stewart and Bernard Sanders

One thing I agree with @SKYNET on is that Bernie didnt do himself any favors by courting establishment Dems for a powerful position.
There's a lot more where that came from. It will take a while but I have faith in you

His dissent makes him a grifter?
No being a part of the Young Turds does though... are you not following because you are a fan of Kyle or a fan of TYT?

No bud, real life doesn't work that way. He's not a part of TYT and hasn't been for years. Facts don't care about your feelings

Got any examples of this? I mean, when you're competing against someone, you're not going to flatter them, you gotta make them look bad. But I don't remember Bernie getting anything particularly dishonest.

And in any case, truly popular candidates can withstand the arrows. Trump got absolutely (and correctly) pilloried by other Republicans both in 2016 and 2024 and he still beat the living shit out of them. Hillary was very rough on Obama in 2008 and she still lost to him.
@terrapin pretty much covered it. I am not saying anything illegal happened. It’s their party and they can run it how they want. But I do feel like they betrayed or burned a lot of good will with progressives in general with the way they ran the primaries and conspired in general to get Hilary the nomination. I think they were arrogant and figured people like me would vote for whoever they put up on the ballot, so they chose Hillary who has always been a good company man.

I think Bernie's half the reason Joe was such a good president and while he may have won if he had fought instead of gone with the establishment Democrats a lot of the good things Joe Biden did were because of Bernie.

Bernie is the ideological leader of the entire party.

Bernie isn't running again so he's "moved over", Bernie picked a strategy to try and alter the democrats from within with unfortunately only limited success (agree or disagree with him he thought it the best measure), and I believe Bernie's wealth is still lower than a lot of other house members, his money comes from book sales
This is on par for some of the biggest loads of bullshit I've ever read here.

We are leagues apart my friend. If I had to guess, folks like you are a part of the problem and there really is no point engaging any further. Respectfully

I can meet you halfway on Kyle. He is an arrogant sh*t who had a hard time comprehending that its possible he might be wrong on certain things, however I just think he has his uses as a mouthpiece and isnt wrong about the left needing to fight vibes with vibes.

I love this bridge we are building. I don't care what anyone says about you, you're alright.

I'm gonna drag this out lol. I don't care about you disagreeing with Kyle, there's zero political commentators I agree with all the time, but a lotta the stuff I see flung his way isn't based on simple disagreements, there's some fundamental things people just get wrong about him.

Sorry lol

Put it like this. Not very long ago Kyle was in league with Cenk. I've always thought Cenk was a bit disingenuous and that Ana was kind of a paid pretty face. If I wanted to put together a "leftist" network with a pretty face, you get someone like Abby Martin, who is good enough rhetorically that Rogan had her on, and so unafraid she criticized Putin on a Russian network and got canned for it.

Then Kyle was pining for the days where he got along with Rogan, but I could have told you Brogan was more right than left 15 years ago, he should have WAY anticipated Brogan's full embrace of MAGA.

All of this makes Kyle look like a "Johnny Come Lately"...like hes not as savvy as he portrays, and given how he kept backing Williamson when it was obvious she was unelectable (despite possibly being the best candidate for progressive policies), he harped on that in a way that likely alienated voters from electorialism altogether. So in the end, it didnt help much, unless you're an accelerationist.

Yeah, the good ole Red Brown alliance. Unironically, out of all the people on this site, @HereticBD called it out. The anti-semetic factions of the right and the accelerationist left come around on a lot when it comes to "dark money". Where, they differ is who is controls it.

I still like Kyle. I think hes useful under someone who can school him on a more disciplined idea of leftist politics. He has good delivery and he's good at getting difficult audiences like young men. He just cant convince them that he's dumber than he advertises. Only the right can get away with that.

Also Cenk lost me when he spoke to PBD "from Capitalist to Capitalist"...it made sense from there why he would Union-bust in his own organization. Cenk's vision was to be the Fox News of the left. He expected, I think, to be floated by small donations the way Bernie's campaign was. And you CAN accomplish that, but not by appealing to capitalism the same way every other news organization does.
