at least if he vacate the belt, Aspinall can defend (or fight) for the belt in march at London, and the category will move on

That's what I got out of it as well, and I'm not even one of the guys shitting on Jon for "ducking". I think him fighting Stipe is what any sensible person would do instead of Aspinall. And so would all the Sherdoggers do as well who are complaining about it.

1. If your not gonna fight the HW division give up the title and go have your money fights.

2. Remember, there ain't no wrestling in a BMF match.

Alex’s chances of defeating either of those men are incredibly slim.

Tom has excellent submissions and good boxing.

Jon has excellent wrestling and fight IQ.

If you think Pereira even considers signing that bout agreement without either a massive up front pay bump or ppv points (even if it's a non title fight) you're delusional. He's not gonna agree to getting paid way LESS (because his LHW title fights get him ppv points) to fight a bigger guy on a card that would be a massive ppv with more buys than any of his previous fights. Yeah he's a company man and he's wired to take short notice fights, etc but he's not a moron.

It's not ducking to me because Bones is at the end of his career. His legacy is already set in stone; he simply is chasing the money before he's done. The bigger money fight would be Bones vs. Pereira. No one on Sherdog can argue that Bones vs. Pereira would not do bigger PPV buys than Bones vs. Aspinall. Pereria pretty much goes viral every time he fights.
