I just believe that elite speed and power translate into any era and Fedor is so dangerous early that he may be able to clip Jon more than two out of ten times. Not sure Jon stays on his feet if Fedor hits him like Lyoto, Cormier, or Gus did.

Jones has been dropped ZERO times in his career. Fedor has been taken down many times in his career by far less mma wrestlers than Jones. Jones winning via wrestling is the much, much more likely of the 2.

Obviously Fedor has a puncher's chance but I really think his striking is being romanticized for this potential match-up. Yes, he stood with Cro Cop... but Cro Cop is a pure striker and Fedor didn't have to worry about the threat of the takedown which has been shown to greatly affect the striking game time and time again (aka Tyron Woodley's entire reign). Not once has Fedor had to deal with this kind of threat and I don't see him having nearly the success people think standing.

That, combined with Jones being a great gameplanner who knows his path to least resistance is to take Fedor down, is why I think this fight is so lopsided. Agree to disagree but this is a horrible match-up for Fedor IMHO

1. Fedor is faster And more powerful than anyone Jones has fought (Machida might have been faster)... He is also the strongest grappler Jones has ever fought.
2. Fedor has beaten better strikers, better grapplers And guys with more reach that has been just as good at using their reach as Jones.
3. Jones has never fought at HW.

Bigfoot was on a fucking tear. That version of Bigfoot lived up to the name. He'd have walked right through Jones imo.

That same Bigfoot got casually starched by DC and Cain with neither guy breaking a sweat.

he was definitely dangerous but he was on a 2 fight win streak and was almost ko'd by a lhw / smaller hw his prior fight, and was knocked out his 2 fights after fedor, by smaller hw's.

I think DC is a bit overrated. DC struggle with good wrestlers, And was an easy fight for Jones. Fedor never worried about Wrestlers. Jones, However is a dangerous fight for anyone, but I just don’t see him being very competitive vs a prime Fedor. He was just too good all over, And too fast And powerful.

Prime Fedor wins easily.

There’s a reason Jones avoided Heavyweight his entire career. Jones is too much of an ectomorph to be competitive against Prime Fedor.
