I voted Jones because Jones is far more proven against top fighters and only one of his fights was even close. Jones would be too fast, too long, too good of a wrestler and a much more diversified striker.

Stupid question. Prime Fedor was unbeatable. He fucking out struck prime Mirko. And go look at the names Mirko beat in Kickboxing. Fedor by decision
he was relatively and surprisingly even with cro cop on the feet but won the fight easily on the strength of being on top of cro cop for half the fight.

noone is unbeatable, fedor included.

All time destroyer of much larger HWs vs the guy who uses PEDs to cut down to 205 and face smaller fighters?

Tough call! Picogram for picograms jbj is best

Fedor
Prime Fedor was a great judoka with unorthodox striking
Jon would lose in the clinch and on the ground
Stand up, Fedor would cut the distance with casting punches and catch Jon with CQC strikes, or go for a throw
there's little reason to believe fedor would be better in the clinch. fedor is more dangerous mid-range and more dangerous with submissions. jones likely better at range and in close and more likely to be in top position on the ground.

many of his better wins were against the smaller hw's (many of whom could make lhw).

both guys obviously have many ways to win.

He also beat up on SHWs, Jones beat up on small LHWs and MWs

Fedor is a international level Judo black belt
Jon never fought someone with that skill level
We'll never know, but I think Prime Fedor would be the better grappler

Jones is unproven at hw and scared of it
Fedor easily, he'll literally break ufcs biggest fraud

Prime Fedor would win prbly due to explosiveness and power. Jon Jones is too slow
and weak to compete at HW in the same manner he does at LHW I think.

But Jon Jones is good and smart, tho maybe the unorthodox style of Fedor, from his own view, would make it hard for him to predict the next move.

Seriously in Fedor prime he could have also just swarmed Jon Jones and a 1st round KO.

The only way I see Jon Jones winning this is getting a takedown and winning from there tho I think prime Fedor would have been able to explode at that position or maybe submit.

Basicly I think Fedor power, agility and explosiveness would win over Jon Jones tactical distance-keeping approach with the takedowns.

And Fedor was clean his whole career..

There's literally nothing which incriminates Fedor as a steroid user, he passed multiple tests throughout his long career when his contemporaries were getting caught left, right, and center. The only argument people can use is that Pride didn't test for PEDs, but the SAMBO contests when he was fighting in Pride did; WADA. Fedor is the only case of guilty before proven innocent, yet Jones gets caught multiple times and his fanboys are still making excuses for him. Lol okay

There is a reason Jones cuts weight and Fedor didn't

he didn't overpower wrestlers in the clinch generally. lindland would have tossed him if fedor didn't have the ropes (ultimately was able to get nice reverse though).

I think @FreddieRoachsVoice has the correct read on this fight. Not sure about Jon winning 9/10 times as Fedor was faster and more powerful than any of Jon's former opponents but Jon should be able to get takedowns consistently and avoid most of Fedor's looping punches with his reach and footwork.

Jon via clear cut UD
Well looking at Fedor's record objectively, how many people did he beat in Pride who were even well rounded in 2 areas (like Frank Shamrock) let alone in all facets of martial arts like Jones?

He beat a lot of specialists (being generous for some of them) but because Fedor himself was well rounded, he could always exploit their weakness. What is he going to exploit on Jones? He can't take him down like he did when he was actually facing a threat standing like Cro Cop and Semmy.

In regards to the wrestlers he faced, they were from the old, old UFC with zero submission defense and he was still controlled by Coleman for a long time before getting the armbar. Would he get it against Jones in a time period where offensive submissions are nearly extinct in high level mma? I say 0/10 times.

The fight I would say is the best indicator of how this fight would go is the Lindland fight which was very much in Fedor's prime. Fedor was busted open almost immediately and being ragdolled by a much smaller, lesser MMA-Wrestler (I am aware of Lindland's amateur credentials) than Jones and Fedor only won due to cheating via holding onto the ropes.

Would Fedor be able to fend off the much bigger, stronger Jones who also has 100000 times the striking of Lindland? I honestly don't see it happening at all. I'm a Fedor fan but it's unfair to compare 2 guys from 2 completely different eras because Jones has every advantage here and it wouldn't even be close IMO.

I would bet on prime Fedor. Tough call between the 2 GOATs
