Media Jon Jones Troubles And Heavyweight Joke Of A Division

Not knocking your chanel or anything but to call a pathological cheater the goat is asenine. Cheaters obviously cheat because they know they have a weakeness they can't get over without enhancing themselves with chemicals. In Jones case it's pretty obvious he needed that extra edge the roids gives him, and without it Jones would most likely not even be part of the goat discussion. Case closed!

It wasn't any kind of secret drug suspension or other conspiracy theory. The truth is that the Reyes fight scared the shit out of Jon. He knew he was living on borrowed time at LHW, he was losing his size and speed advantage and getting older. He flirted with quitting the UFC altogether during that famous 3-way beef with himself, Dana, and Ngannou where Jones had insulted Ngannou's skill and Frank then challenged him to settle it in the cage. He found a way out of that situation by agreeing to the fight but asking Dana for 'Deontay Wilder money' in order to do so. Dana publicly ridiculed him a few times and Jon finally said he was quitting MMA altogether. But a few weeks later he had a different idea, he wasn't quitting, he was just preparing for the next chapter in his remarkable career--finally moving up to HW. The only problem being that if he wanted the title shot he would have to fight Frank after all. This began the 3 year process of promising to fight 'when he was ready'. After a couple years of this Ngannou left the UFC for more money and finally and suddenly Jon was ready. Waiting it out payed off for Jones as he matched up well with Cyril Gane for the vacant belt. But he doesn't match up well with interim champ Tom Aspinall so here we have more ridiculousness with Jones again trying to get an easy fight with Stipe Miocic and avoiding the actual contenders in the division.
Rumble, Francis, and now Aspinal. It's not a coincidence he managed to avoid the biggest hitters in his division. Also Jones have literally admitted to picking fights to stay undefeated so what else is there to say. Although physically gifted and skilled Jones is obviously mentally weak weight bully and a cheat.

Yeh, threatening testers with high 5s is pretty serious shit.
Thats is the tester being happy to get out unscathed lmao. He still filed the aggression obviously otherwise we would have heard nothing.

It's actually mad how we've got the top heavyweight contenders waiting around because the UFC want Jones vs Stipe. Now we have Jones injured, getting into trouble once again, and Stipe and Aspinall twiddling their thumbs. Aspinall waiting to defend an interim belt after beating the no.1 contender - not even getting a shot at the main title.

It is such a farce. It would be easier if Stipe retired tbh. UFC are still holding out hope for that Jones/Stipe fight. My memory isn't great, but has the UFC done this for any other fighter, barring maybe Conor? The preferential treatment is odd.

You look at Jones career as well and he definitely has plenty of fights he's won via endurance.

This carry on undermines everything the UFC is supposed to stand for.

If the UFC is adamant about this fight going down and Jones refuses to fight Tom, make Jones vs Stipe as a non title retirement fight, and give Tom a fight to become undisputed.

Some kind of credibility has to be restored, or the cry of joke division will remain.

I reckon your wrist is a little limp for anything high 5 related. Move on.

Indeed!

The Gustafsson fight was very high paced from start to finish with lots wrestling and striking. I know Gus trained very hard for that fight and supposedly Jones did not, at least that was the excuse he gave, and somehow he still managed to keep the pace get gifted the decicion. Logically he was using already back then.

The first Cormier fight as well, very close match until Jones cardio took over midway though.

I think you could argue as well the second fight Cormiers tactics were informed heavily by knowing he was at a cardio disadvantage as well.

People talk and talk about "fighters favoured in Japan" but honestly I think Jones is the most favoured fighter in the history of MMA, PED issues overlooked, cheating in the cage overlooked(and the one early DQ Dana has talked about trying to overturn it), multiple questionable judging decisions favouring him and being forgiven for various other infractions outside of MMA.

True, very much so. Where in the hell did Jones get all that energy since he's never been known to do much cardio in the first place.

Agreed, good point. Nobody comes close to being pamperd and carried by the UFC like Jones.

Also Reyes kept a high pace to and Jones ran alot in that fight.

Why anyone is a fan of this criminal scum is beyond me. Just now he has threatened to kill a woman just trying to collect his testing sample for drug testing.

Thats what happens if you dont hold people accountable for their actions. A junkie that also abuses PED and the people around him living in a bubble money and the UFC created for him.

People like Conor and Lesnar have had some preferential treatment as well but not to the degree of Jones.

uefa, fifa, nba. Someone like Jones with his record as a cheater would never be the goat. That is only possible with the UFC 🎪🤡🎪

Exactly. He's afraid of losing but he's terrified of getting knocked out

this is what it is for me. in order to keep the train rolling Jon must lose to in UFC OR do a Khabib and never fight again. this is why Dana threatened Jon during the Ngannou negotiations that "we can make that fight tonight Jon, just call me or Hunter and we'll make the Ngannou fight right now" and Jon went completely radio silent. he's also hinted at wanting Jon to fight Tom if he beats Stipe.

if Dana wants Jon to fight Tom it's not because it's an easy layup. he wants Tom to fight Jon because he knows there's a good chance Tom puts him away. and they then use that to catapult Tom as the new undisputed champion. same reason they made the Jon vs Gane fight instead of Jon vs any other HW who isn't coming off a loss. to cancel Ngannou with the optics. Ngannou struggled vs Gane while Jon dismantled him in like 30 secs. to casuals who know nothing about Ngannou's knee, it makes it seem Jon is way better than Ngannou and shuts down any talk of the current UFC HW champ being a paper champ.
yep, you are spot on.
