To be honest though with Hendo the TRT basically meant that "being 40" was less of an issue rather than him becoming radically better as a higher, Fedor himself declined as a fighter between the two era though, most obviously his grappling.

I think its strange that guys like Fedor, Nog, etc get called PED cheats because they dropped off when in reality one of the main signs of PED use tends to be excessive longevity.

What a lame comparison... there's always an unknown factor with punches. Also, Hunt's chin is indeed overrated, hence why he got flattened by a smaller guy.

A far less unknown factor is your actual fighting abilities in a cage or in a ring in a mismatch, hence why nobody believed Conor had a chance against Mayweather.

If Fedor was good (i mean not even great) he should have win the fight against a 40 years old MW but got destroyed and exposed instead.

A younger so-called HW GOAT against a much older MW should have been a total mismatch, but Fedor still lost.

I agree, he looked deflated against Conor. The problem is that he lost the most important fight of his career, badly. He also looked amazing in the Chad fight just before it, so he picked a strange fight to jump off the "supplements"

The other problem is that Volk's win list is better, doesnt have any losses, and has Aldo and Holloway on it. So I don't even think he's the goat in his own division.

So how could you have Aldo over Volk?

I never mentioned Volk. I think him and Aldo both have cases to be a top 5 GOAT, and Volk is only undefeated at FW because he's still in his prime. If he sticks around long enough he'll lose.

Prime Faber and prime pre USADA Mendes were great fighters though. Among the best UFC fighters to have never won a UFC title if we're excluding WEC. The only great fighter Volk has beaten was Holloway, as both Aldo and Mendes were clearly past their best by the time Volk fought them.
