Rumored Jon Jones to have his loss to Matt Hamill overturned..?

Doubt it happens.
In any other sport - heck, even in WWE - I would take a much firmer stand on this being impossible, but this is MMA, this is UFC, this is Jones. "Doubt it happens" is just about furthest I am willing to go.

Even under the new rules Yan kneed a downed opponent. Yan is stupid for kneeing even when the ref and his corner told him not to. Are you as stupid as Yan to not understand the rules?

Also Yan lost the rematch and twice more for three in a row. Not sure how that would get him to six in a row
Clearly I didn't think it through in my desperate attempt for likes.

Crazy if true. But I don’t agree with this. He didn’t follow the rules at the time. Why should the loss be expunged just because the rules have changed a decade + later?

Also, are they willing to remove DQ losses from every player’s record and whenever there’s a rule change or just for Jones? 🤔
Seems bonkers. I don't believe it.
Are they going to retroactively make Petr Yan the UFC champion?

This is a great precedent. My OG 2008 account was banned because of what was percieved to be banworthy at the time back in 2010-ish. We should revisit my account looking through a modern lens and re-evaluate.

If the offense don’t rate, you must reinstate!

I heard it would make some scumbag cokehead at TKO a tiny bit more rich if we overturn all of Conor's losses tomorrow and they could market him as undefeated.

They should definitely do that and moron fans/PR posters on this site should all lobby for it. Mr. Scumbag's marginal pay increase at TKO is a valid reason to annihilate any remaining integrity for the sport.

That's a lawyer money grabbing move tbh.
Even though i agree Jones should have won that fight, changing a current rule at the time today should not change the result at the time.
Something similar would be changing all soccer kick ending fights in one at the time they would allow it.

Having that bout changed would also open instances for a lot of similar fights (I don't know any... But there are probably similar fights I guess).

I have mixed feelings on this situation.

I don't like retroactively changing rules and the decisions that came from them, but I also thought that call was BS when it happened.

If I were balls deep in Jones hate like most of this place it'd be an easy call, but it's just the tip for me 😀

Who is Ruebin Carter?
The real Rubin "Hurricane" Carter was a professional boxer who was falsely convicted of murder and Bob Dylan wrote a song about him. Denzel Washington played him in the biopic.

The account making the sourceless claim of breaking news seems to be a fake news content creator named after him.

Jon should get this overturned to a NC no question. I have always advocated this call and DQing Jon was BS.

There are two main issues I have with this scenario. One is about interpretation by the referee and the other is about the original call.

First, whenever there are fouls, it's always up to the interpretation of the referee and never consistent on how they're treated. Sometimes you get fighter who commits a foul and gets a warning, sometimes a point take away, and rarely is there a DQ. Sometimes, fighters will commit multiple fouls and they don't get a point and two warnings. 90% of the time, it's a warning.

For example....

1. Tatsura Taira threw 4 staright 12-6 elbows in a fight, all Herb Dean did was show him the correct way, not even a point.
2. Al- Hassan threw illegal elbows against Brungade, due to the shots Brundage said he cant continue and fight is ruled a NC.

So you have many different cases with different rulings. Jon threw 2 downward elbows in his fight after throwing about 30 legal ones and he gets DQ'd. But as I said earlier, 90% of the time it's a warning, 10% of the time a point, we literally have one scenario of a DQ. So if it gets overturned, I am fine with it considering hundreds of fighter commit fouls and didnt get DQd.

The other point is the origingal call. When this happened, Mazigatti told Jon he cant do that, it's illegal and then said "one point, one point, illegal elbows." The original penatly was to deduct one point. Then he sees Hammil who clearly didn't want to continue and asks if wants out. Fight is stopped. Based on the original call and how pretty much every fight was ruled when a fighter can't continue do to an illegal manuver, its a NC.

So if it somehow gets overturned. I am fine with it because all that does is it follows 99% of outcomes of fouls. Warning, point or NC.

How bout the times he roided himself to the grills and poked his opponents eyes. Will those be overruled as well?

Also, never going to happen. We wouldn't honor the appeal, it's way past the statute of limitations for MMA result appeals.
But what if Dana posts an angry video calling you all fake media?
