Rumored Jon Jones to have his loss to Matt Hamill overturned..?

I don't believe for a minute this will happen. But it would be hilarious for the haters tears if he retires undefeated.

Petr Yan is about to defend his bantamweight title for the 6th time. Is that the new record?
Even under the new rules Yan kneed a downed opponent. Yan is stupid for kneeing even when the ref and his corner told him not to. Are you as stupid as Yan to not understand the rules?

Also Yan lost the rematch and twice more for three in a row. Not sure how that would get him to six in a row?

I thought it was a bad call, but I feel that way about many decisions. It's a loss, and it shouldn't be relitigated. There was a time for an appeal, but 2024 isn't it.

No way, that would be nonsense level corruption. You can't change the rules and then apply them retroactively. Why not ban hooks and strip Poatan of all belts in 20 years time

Crazy if true. But I don’t agree with this. He didn’t follow the rules at the time. Why should the loss be expunged just because the rules have changed a decade + later?

Also, are they willing to remove DQ losses from every player’s record and whenever there’s a rule change or just for Jones? 🤔

That’s never gnan happen, let’s be realistic.

The decision should be overturned

Some random dude on twitter with 2400 followers is credible source now?

dude is probably AI judging by that profile pic, and all the BREAKING NEWS posts of the same format

what I found egregious was Steve Mazzagatti asking a deaf Matt Hamill to defend himself.

<{hughesimpress}>

Was a fight he dominated an only lost due to elbows to a fighter who was getting g pummeled. I do t thi k it should be a win but there should be a note of so e sort as a L implies you were beaten n hw clearly wasnt

Sherdog and Tom Aspinall is tatters, Jon wins again

That's ridiculous if true. That's like running a stop sign 10 years ago and now the stop sign isn't there anymore so they give you back your fine money and wipe it from your record. That's not how rules and laws work. He broke the rules when the rules existed.

This is all Dana. As a promoter, he's desperately wanted to promote Jon as undefeated.

BULLSHIT HOW DARE YOU. Hammill is THE TRUE LINEAL GOAT.

HE HAD THE GENIUS IDEA OF SMASHING JON'S ELBOW INTO A MILLION PIECES WITH THE BACK OF HIS HEAD.

That kind of creativity is from an earlier era, guys these days are just copycats.

He really said this:

I kind of like that the loss is there though just to annoy all the Jones nut huggers on Sherdog. It's a nice reminder that Jones defeated himself at life. He didn't need any help to ruin his legacy.

The GOAT will never be a guy who was winning fights coked up and on steroids. He will always be the Pete Rose of MMA, I don't even think he belongs in the Hall of Fame.
You've bigger problems than Jonesy if you're this worried about it

Retroactively changing the outcome of a fight cause rules are different now is retarded. Might as well make all soccer kick and stomp wins from Pride DQs cause UFC bought Pride, it makes just about as much sense.

Sounds like BS to me. The UFC can overturn it on his "UFC record" but his official MMA record with the athletic commissions is unlikely to be changed.

He broke the rules at the time, and that's all that matters.
