Jon Jones makes 5 million + a fight

Wow.

You'd think for someone with his record he'd be making a LOT more.

Jones in the process of the biggest duck I have ever seen. And he started it. He’s beyond delusional and is bad for the sport. Let Bellator have him Dana. We all know that is the only place he will ever be a beast again.

GOAT my ass.

For real.

Pillowfist, one finish in seven years Jones arguably lost vs Santos and also lost vs Reyes (only Jones dickriders deny this), even Dana White had it 3-1 Reyes going into the 5th.

Shitty person outside the cage, and gifted 2 wins in a row - I hope the UFC does cut him. See if you make $5 million + per fight in Bellator, Jon.

No one making that kind of money should be complaining on social media during a time in which 40 million people are unemployed and rapidly running out of benefits.

Not only is it completely tone deaf but this is the same guy who has a rap sheet a mile long and was arrested two months ago under 'strange' circumstances to put it mildly.

The UFC can look the other way for Jon because the organization does not preach moral superiority, but there is no other major sports league that would not have banned him for life by now. If Jones is really making $5,000,000 per fight it would insane to move up to heavyweight where he has a very real chance of losing. He should leave the negotiating to his agent and delete his twitter account.

Francis is asking for more money aswell, is he ducking?

Maaan, if I had that kinda money... I'd invest half of it in low-risk mutual funds. Then I'd call my friends Asudullah in securities, oooh man it would be good.

Yeah this looks about right. Jones obviously is seeing all these other guys get paid more than him. I can see why hes upset and wants more but he needs to be realistic about all the self sabotage that hurt his brand and earnings. He has no one to blame but himself for not making as much.
You were on point until you went into the whole banter about self sabotage hurting his brand. It's an absolute lie. Contraversial and even criminal athletes tend to draw. It is what it is.

More than I thought. I thought he wasn't the best of draws. Perhaps the new guys have a better contract than the athletes that came before them in terms of PPV buys because I beleive PPV have done down from like 10-15 years ago.

About what I thought he made. Jon Jones is a decent draw. I don't get why people are surprised by his pay.

However Conor claimed he made like 50 million for the Khabib fight and in the past said he was making 20-25 million per fight. I don't believe that one bit. Chael in 2016 once suggested Conor made around 10 million for his big fights and he's probably right.

I wonder what's Jon Jones angle here. Seems like the guy is pretending to have a fake outrage.

you can nitpick all you want.
it gives an idea of how much money he makes per fight compared with the greatest (and the most expensive) fighters. It also does not include Lesnar or Ronda, but it shows he is not making an exorbitant amount like haters are saying. he is on par with the rest. And making (far) less than the popular ones who accomplished far less than him.

Context is not 'nitpicking'...and I don't think too many serious fans are claiming he is making an "exorbitant" amount either. The best fighters should be indeed be earning the most money, but it is also important to look at the bigger picture when looking at overall compensation.

We can call Conor 'expensive', but he is worth FAR more to the UFC that even the total revenue associated with any one event in which he participates. He is responsible for driving the overall business and dramatically expanding it's overall fanbase (as did Brock, when he crossed over). That is highly relevant when looking at overall compensation.

Keep in mind Jones has also repeatedly sabotaged his own career and left a fortune on the table in lost salary, bonuses, and endorsements. I don't really care to hear him cry about money, though I certainly agree he deserves more.

People like you are absolute morons and shouldn’t even be allowed to post.

you agree he deserves more but don’t wanna hear him crying about it? Lol what kind of ass backwards logic is this?

Crying to the extent he is now, I mean. It is hard to have as much sympathy as I normally would when I feel that he is largely responsible for the lack of leverage that he currently possesses with the UFC.

Basically admitting he could've made 10million+ and still ducked the fight.

Pro-tip: Shut the fuck up for a couple days about the whole issue and talk to your manager, then put out a statement. Goddamnit Jon {<jordan}
10 million how? They didn't even discuss a figure.

Canelo makes about at least $30 million per fight. MMA fighters get screwed in comparison to boxers.

He's making enough money to retire at 35 and for him + kids + grandkids to live a life in luxury without ever working.

Getting screwed hard.

Apparently it's not enough to take another ass kicking from Reyes, he'd rather get sent packing
