Jon Jones is 17-0 in UFC title fights

Well, nuthugger excuses aside he really isn’t undefeated whether you want to accept it or not, loss is a loss. He wasn’t allowed to cheat and get away with shit back then so he lost. Now he can juice and cheat his way to the top, so this “goat” crap next to his name has a huge asterisk.

I love how you guys act like the dislocated shoulder, 2 minutes straight of GNP that should've been stopped at any moment, or the ref asking a deaf dude if he could continue and not getting a response never happened.

That Jon just took down Hamill perfectly normal and then landed 2 illegal (arguable) elbows and now Hamill couldn't continue so Jon rightfully lost.

The fight's a perfect example of how a bad ref can fuck you over completely and yes should be rightfully ignored and instead counted as a win. Jon won the fight 10x over before the elbows ever even happpened, and on replay they're not even 10-6 elbows in the first place.

Anybody who has watched every great fighter this sport has ever produced and still doesn't see that Jon Jones is obviously the best that ever did it is an imbecile.

Another interesting fact.
Every single fight he has been in since his fight against Shogun in 2011 has been a title fight (or interim)
Imagine all these hungry top contenders wanting to fight for the belt, having all Jones' available tapes to study etc

This is truly why Jon is the GOAT and hasn't had all these later losses unlike the others.

Everybody else makes the mistake of fighting how they always have so the inevitably get caught / have a tougher time. There's just too much tape available and slower reflexes just make it all the more likely they're opponent will land the sequences they've drilled for. Anderson, GSP, Fedor, Aldo, Cruz, etc., they all try and fight how their prime selves did and it costs them.

Jon's the only guy who's switched things up and adapted as his career's progressed to stay on top. It's why the Gane fight was so dominant. It's not that Gane isn't a bad grappler; it's that Jon acknowledged that at his age, his last kickboxing heavy fights that were close, time off, HW power he's never felt, HW built he's never fought at before, etc., he should focus on being a dominant grappler to avoid it all as much as possibly entirely. Brilliant adaption that others would and have stubbornly ignored.

That said, I'd probably put DJ as the combat GOAT, even if I have Jon ahead as the MMA GOAT. DJ is a close 2nd, but just has too many losses to be MMA GOAT over Jon. The reason why I'd give him a more broader combat GOAT though is cause he's 6-1 now over in ONE where the rules are different. His 1 loss to Moraes was specifically due to ONE's different rules allowing grounded knees and shows he hadn't fully adjusted to them at the time (and he'd still already won a GP before that). What does he do? Comes back and pays Moraes back in kind with a knee KO of his own, and then wins the trilogy on top of it. All at BW, not FLW. Then on top of that he goes and has a mixed MT/MMA fight with the P4P #1 MT fighter in the world and wins, and then goes and wins gold at IBJJF in 2023 too.

MM overall is ridiculous at combat. I just can't give him specifically MMA over Jon as Jon does have the better career there.

A lot of people haven't been around long enough to know that when Jon was first coming up there were literally discussions about needing to ban elbows and the GNP he could do because he was doing damage that had never before been seen in MMA.

You've got more modern people saying Khabib or nostalgics saying Fedor that they've got the greatest GNP ever meanwhile nobody's ever said they literally need to be banned from doing so as it was too unfair.

Then he goes and becomes a submission artist and the best kickboxer in his division too. No shit he's undefeated, exactly where are you supposed to beat him at?

Thank God for picograms!
I don't think steroids are blessed.

Jose Aldo delayed his drug test by 3 days and deported the collection agent over it and yet everybody gives him a pass.

Spare me the faux outrage.
It was definitely suspicious and I don’t give him a pass, but thats the only time Jose ever came close fucking up. Jon’s on a different level when it comes to fuckups.

And he's like 0-13 for steroid tests. Truly, he is a fighter of all time.

Jones is the only champ with so many asterisks. For God’s sake, even juicing is not enough for that guy. He fucking pokes his opponents in the eye.
GSP is the true GOAT.

yep, he's a great fighter. shitty human being. pretty much all that needs to be said.

You're so deep into your narratives over facts that you don't even know (or care) that Nevada ended up equally siding with USADA's judgment that it was non-performance enhancing like CSAC did, and licenced Jones only weeks later to fight Smith in Nevada despite him still pulsing during their tests they made him do. And then licenced him again for Santos and Gane. NSAC likewise doesn't care about his pulsing.

The entire issue was that they wanted a hearing first to go over USADA's evidence before licencing him and the dumb fuck government employees decided they could only convene together for that hearing after the event would take place. Instead of, you know, scheduling one beforehand. It was entirely them being retards thinking they didn't need to pencil in an emergency meeting for an emergency situation. Congrats on losing your city and state hundreds of millions of dollars. If NSAC were anything other than government employees they'd have all been fired over such a colossally stupid blunder.
