Should his gun be confiscated?

he's a felon he isn't allowed to own a gun but that doesn't stopped ppl from getting them illegally. Him getting caught with one is going to get him in more trouble and seeing how it is a felony for a felon to have a gun he may be a considered habitual offender and get to have the prison sex.
Except he's not a felon. As shameful as it is, driving while intoxicated is not a felony in the USA.

His hit and run should have been a felony, but he's rich so it's obviously not. Even owning an unregistered gun isn't a felony in the USA unfortunately. He'll have to literally kill someone before they even consider punishing him for real

A FN Herstal 5.7 is chambered in 0.224 caliber but it is very high muzzle velocity for a small caliber handgun.
That is a slightly unusual weapon & uncommon ammo and damaging rounds due to v high muzzle velocity.

If I had to have a small caliber handgun I'd probably take a Herstal 5.7:

Quite expensive compared to a Glock, but really nicely made and terrific looking weapon IMO.
This is my carry gun, super light weight with 20 round mags low recoil and a high velocity tumbling round. Hard to beat IMO

A .22 is not a BB gun. At close range, a .22 can do quite a bit of damage, especially to the head. The bullet generally doesn't leave the skull, so instead it bounces around, tearing up brain tissue.

The US military uses the M16 and M4 as the primary rifles, which are chambered in .223 (5.56mm) compared to the much larger 7.62x39 round used by the AK47 and its clones. The reason? The smaller round does more damage when it hits the body as it tears through organs.

A BB gun, though, basically won't even draw blood usually.

See the difference?

Did you not catch his sarcasm? I am sure he is a gun nut. In gun circles people rag on .22 for lacking the stopping power of other handgun rounds .45, 44 or 9mm. Oh and yes or course many rifles have 22s

.22 lr vs .223

This explains the questions I have had about why no one called the cops about the gun shot. People prolly thought someone was doing a little roofing with a nail gun

.22 is a strange choice. He was probably drunk, high, and on PEDs when he bought it.

We have people out there basically purchasing automatic weapons and shooting up schools. In this country nobody seems to care about guns.

You know I don’t live in a unsafe area. But honestly within about 5 miles there is a decent amount of crime where I live. And from my apartment I hear gunshots going off in the distance all the time. I don’t hear too many sirens following the gunshots. Just saying.

I live out in the country and always just figured it was a bigger deal if you shot one off in the middle of the city.

absolutely man, nice choice.
As the rounds are so small caliber, it holds a standard 20-rounds in the clip, very nice. Most 9mm are only gonna be maybe 14 or 15rounds.
Question : what do the rounds cost for a box of 50 in the States? just curious. I know some people same the ammo is pricey compared to 9mm ammunition.

Just invoking his Second Amendment rights

Having a concealed weapon in a vehicle or on your person (loaded or not), is a felony unless you have a concealed weapons permit (even if he has one it is voided if you're drunk and carrying). Especially while driving intoxicated at twice the legal limit (while speeding), and the police heard gunshots in the area you're in while you're speeding.

Will never understand the obsession with guns and that everyone should be allowed to carry one. Don't let everyone have a gun, it's not good. Argument? Look at the rest of the western world.

Everything Jon and Dana have been doing in and out of the ring has been for the people and never for themselves... sarcasm.

Jones is a knucklehead...

But everyone in this thread calling a 22 a 'peashooter' or 'BB' gun are also knuckleheads

False. A .223 does NOT do more damage than a 7.62 round, that's a myth. Look at any ballistic gelatin test. There are 3 reasons why NATO went to 5.56: 1) Lighter, a soldier can carry more rounds per lb. 2) the intent is to wound an enemy, not kill them. a wounded enemy is more resource dependent 3) the cost per round. Lastly, in my hunting region in Canada, using a .223 is frowned upon for deer hunting as it is inhumane. The deer is rarely killed and runs off, dies and spoils. That is why I use a .308 (7.62x51).

Also comparing a centrefire .223 to a rim fire .22 is ridiculous.

Should his gun be confiscated? Yes, until such time as he is found guilty, then it should be confiscated permanently, or; at such time as he is found not guilty and it should be returned.
