I thought Gordon was like super sick and was going to take along time to get back? He kind of painted a picture of himself almost on his death bed. He sure has been looking decent recently.
I agree. He posted a long story about antibiotics making him sick. As a human being (and someone who works in medicine), I have compassion for him and sincerely wish him a full and speedy recovery. As a a fan of combat sports (and someone who is not in favor of PEDs), I have to take what Ryan says or does with a grain of salt.

Literally what I said lol

My delusion is that Ryan finishes what Vitor started, but your delusion is that Ryan can't handle strikes to get a hold of Jones' long arms or legs.

...what? Ryan can't sub Jones when strikes are allowed, and Jones cannot sub Ryan in a grappling match. that isn't a delusion, they're both accurate. stop confusing me, I'm a karate forum simpleton

That old dude was a lot slicker than I thought he would be. He must be some sort of Jedi Master.

I imagine he'd be training with Danaher before a hypothetical match, no? How many top BJJ guys have struggled in MMA after being taken down? Any?

Wut? How many "top BJJ guys" has faced a world class MMA fighter, let alone the GOAT, when having zero clue of how to deal with strikes?

Just stop it.

Gordon Ryan a liar?

Nooooooo

Jones would smoke him like a cheap cigar.

Sounded like he had a terrible case of C-diff, and I have sympathy for that. Gordon has the same issue Jon does, God given talent that had to be tainted with PEDs.

If Jones teaches Gordon striking he could be a World Champion in MMA in my opinion.

a and d are pretty fucking clear options lol... if people don't think D is true they have never watched Ryan

there's an outside chance ryan subs jones if strikes are allowed, although its a smaller chance than jones subbing ryan, which i just cant see happening

jon has the slickest grappling i seen in the ufc.the way he reversed dc and took him down in the 2nd fight was otherworldly

Jones showed that kickboxing (Gane) is inferior to other disciplines in MMA

As the GOAT:
- Can he still improve at this point? What could he work on to improve his fight skills?
- Better boxing, grappling, and wrestling? Learn from world champions in those disciplines?

Tyson Fury = best heavyweight boxer in the world
Gordon Ryan = best heavyweight submission grappler in the world
Gable Steveson = best heavyweight wrestler in the world

looks like Jones took my advice of getting trained by Gordon Ryan, the #1 grappler in the world.

now he just needs to train with Tyson Fury, the #1 boxer in the world
and Gable Steveson, the #1 wrestler in the world

to collect all Infinity Stones and become Jon "Thanos" Jones, MMA God of Earth

The amount of people thinking ground strikes would make any difference when there's a gap this huge in skill in the ground... I mean it's obvious these people never grappled a day in their entire life

Just when the p4p heavyweight champion of the world couldn't get better...
the p4p best grappler is amazed at Jon Jones learning speed.

Bones with Khabib-like grappling...

Will we see Stipe finished in under 30 seconds at MSG?

Jon should train with Tyson Fury to unlock the boxing infinity stone and complete the gauntlet.

Maybe some extra side missions to reach physical perfection:
- Train strength with former world's strongest man Hafthor
- Train rock climbing with best climber Adam Ondra for finger strength (eye pokes duh)
- Train swimming with Michael Phelps (you never know when you have to fight in the water)
- Train sprinting with Usain Bolt (increase fast twitch explosiveness)
- Train marathon with Eliud Kipchoge (endurance training for hypothetical round 50 in MMA)
- Train chess with Magnus Carlsen (for maximum fight IQ and strategy)
