Jon Jones attacking Ariel Helwani on Twitter

Jones can sit back comfortably making peanuts, while Ngannou is making bank and can retire with two more fights.

It is okay, Jones is the big fish in a small pond. Wouldn't risk anything for the big prize.

Jon has been in 17 straight title fights and won all of them. I'm pretty sure he's quite a bit richer than Ngannou at this point still.

Jon is really down bad about this. First the whole world knows he ducked Francis. Then his cherry picked fight against an ancient Stipe fell through (Im not convinced Jon is actually even injured) and now the man he ducked just had one of the biggest moments in combat sports history.

Jon knows he cant beat the man in a street fight. Cant beat him in an MMA fight. And certainly couldnt beat him in a boxing match, or any top boxer. I bet he hasnt gotten an hour of sleep the last couple days.

“He didn’t believe in himself” could not be more inaccurate, regarding Ngannou. And what a prick thing to say, I might add.
his own trainer basically said a huge reason they didnt take the Jones fight was that if he lost to the MMA goat, there was no protection.

He'd go from 8 mil to whatever he was gonna make and that was it.

Sounds pretty close to not wanting to take a gamble on himself.

People can do all the biased mental gymnastics they want, but the reality is that the fight was there if Ngannou wanted it. And he declined.

Jon has never even been dropped or hurt, let alone KO'd. He's a great striker on top of that, even if his power's nothing special. He's one of the most dynamic and creative the sport's ever seen. The grappling is massively in his favour against everybody he fights, and the threat of the TD alone has always been a problem in and of itself for strikers.

Fury by contrast has been dropped a few times, and realistically was KO'd by Wilder in the 1st fight. He was supposedly #1 or #2 HW boxer in the world, who though relies on his size to wear down opponents not used to it in the clinch. He can only punch.

Fury is stylistically the way easier fight. We all thought he still needed his nuclear option to actually pull it off as the skill was supposed to be way more in Fury's favour, but Ngannou was taking the fight where his opponent has no option but to stand in front of him and risk that. Ngannou was fighting in his own strength.

Against Jones he meanwhile needs to stop Jones from taking him out of his strength and bypassing it entirely. Fury will be standing in front of him, Jon might instead be literally on top of him.
You gotta be trolling, just because Ngannou uses mainly his boxing in MMA doesnt mean he should be anywhere near close to an easy fight vs Fury. Why do you think the boxing community is so shocked? Fury wasnt even supposed to get touched by Francis...

Jones is a tough fight for anyone but at least its in the same sport and Ngannou has been wrestling for a while now.

I know exactly who you must be replying too even though I have him on ignore now. He's always a constant contrarian, I wouldn't even reply to him.

That itself is biased mental gymnastics. Fuck occupational security, am I right?

Jon can hold onto his paper belt making the scraps UFC throws his way while fighting geriatric part time fighters. Francis on the other hand is going to make more than Jon has in his entire career in a few boxing matches. Jon had 3 years to step to Francis and he decided to wait on the sidelines until he left for greener pastures.
How the fuck do you pin this to the top of the thread? All the Jones cocksucking dickriders. It gets so annoying to have to hear. It doesn't take 3 years to put on size when you're already a HW.

Jesus, this dude is going to need to be on house arrest for his recovery. Already getting triggered over nothing when every other fighter is giving Ngannou the congrats he deserves.

Should start a parley for when Jones does his next crime if he's already at this place mentally.

Jon lacks any self-awareness. He literally just posted that Francis didn’t believe in himself and wasn’t willing to gamble on himself. Ngannou is the epitome of believing in yourself. Meanwhile Jones is stuck with a company that’s been insulting him for years.
Jones' logical fallacy is very obvious.

Ngannou not kowtowing to Dana and the UFC =/= Ngannou not wanting to fight Jones.

Dana and Jones are the only people who try to sell this, and it's only the low IQ idiot MMA fans who eat it up.

Nobody think that this cannot lead to Dana booking a Conor v Floyd, but instead it’s Jones v Francis? It’d be the biggest fight ever (and Jones would beat him). Dana just ditched USADA and inked a deal with budlight and y’all don’t think he’s doing what he does best? This is the same Dana that was arguably sportsman of the year, during the Covid pandemic …
Lol no, Dana ain't what you're making him out to be.

He was sitting on a goldmine in Francis Ngannou and he fumbled it.
