Shit was still as awesome as the last time. I get the criticism on how the Zazie Beetz storyline was a little predictable and that was probably the more objective criticism of the film that I've seen. I don't get the hate for the Murray interview scene though, but I guess it's down to personal taste.

First time I went with friends and it was our first time viewing it, but this time I went with someone who hadn't seen it yet. It was interesting kinda catching their reactions to certain things tbh, and no matter who I've gone with they've all loved (spoilers) the scene where he kills Randall and the Murray interview.

I'd go see it again but 15 bucks is the standard moving going price around these parts and I'm pretty poor

I do hope it reaches the big 1 billion though

It's at 934 Mil as of Today without a single cent from China.

It's holding well and could reach a Billion before Frozen 2 comes out.

Juat saw this. Really good movie, not really even DCU related honestly. My wife doesn't know shit about comics (she never even saw the Bale movies) and she got it all.

Just for shits and giggles I read the reviews. If you want a good laugh, read the NYT's review (if it hasn't been brough up in here already).

One review was spot on for me. It was something like, "This movie is proof that the MCU is fun and the DCU isn't." With the exception of Aquaman, I agree with that. All DCU stuff is so dark, but in a good way. I wouldnt let my kids watch the Bale Batman's or Joker.

I paid $6 and it had italian leather recliners and hd viewing. Not sure which dump you go to..

Also depends where in the world the cinema is, Im in Australia and 15 is pretty stock standard.

5 bucks for me. I have a local theatre that gets movies 2 to 3 weeks after release for a discount. Reminds me of the old dollar theatres. Candy at my place is only $1.50 for movies theatre sized boxes, and 1.50 for a 32oz fountain drink. Doesnt even make sense to sneak candy for me. It does suck having to avoid spoilers for 2 weeks all the time though.

Pheonix was phenomenal. Even his body was fucking creepy.

The rest of the film was not. Great example of a bunch of dark events that don't really disturb because of the failure to establish real dramatic meaning behind them.

Glad Taxi Driver has come up in this thread because it's about 1000x more patient and subtle and a much higher quality film as a result.

I was relieved to see how superficial the political angle was. Much ado about nothing - which is how it should be.

Who the hell is allowed to bring a backpack inside a theater? Don’t they check what’s inside? Such as if you snuck in food or etc?
I almost always carry a backpack or a briefcase with me. IIRC, I've only been searched once, at a theater in South Florida. Honestly, it'd suck if they searched every bag at every theater. Here in Boston, hardly anyone has guns, or at least carries, so I doubt any theaters even bother to search here.

I'm assuming you guys live outside of the US and similar countries because I haven't seen prices like that in my working memory and I remember going to movies vividly going back about 26 years...

Nope, US for me.

Why do you carry a briefcase or backpack with you into a theater? Why not just leave it in your trunk of your car?

I live in Houston...

im glad a good movie like joker beat out garbage like BvS sets a good precedent.
Good precedent? Like having their comic book moves dark like they originally intended with the DCEU? I love the tone and realistic setting of Man of Steel, and I appreciate the extended cut of BvS, but that cookie cutter, Marval tone aquaman is what’s hot garbage. I am just glad that Joker proved that dark comic books movies can work.

It's just kind of how I roll. I typically bring it with me even when I have a car. Also, FWIW, I probably won't have a car up here in Boston (I just recently moved back from FL) until Spring. I sold pretty much everything when I moved. It's also often easier to take public transportation around here anyway. But yeah, putting it in the trunk of the car is a good idea. Never really did that before for whatever reason. :)

I carry a small backpack when I go to the theatre. I use it to store my phone, wallet and anything else I might need. In the UK, no one has a problem with this. A few times I've taken my sports bag with me, because I'm gone to the gym after seeing the movie.

Here in the US our pants have these things called pockets. They are small but compact slots where you can store things like wallets and cell phones.
