Loved it. Started slow but the build up of tension and the ending were fucking great.

It's gonna look even worse in comparison than Dark Phoenix following Logan.

I wonder how many of the people praising Joker after watching it were bitching in the earlier threads about his incel origin. Joker purists mad because it defies canon lol.

Pheonix is good but....not Oscar-worthy imo

I feel like Ledger was not necessary better but more memorable

Considering how many people have voted 10/10, I think this movie is highly overrated

This is a 7.5/10 type movie

Everything that happens in this movie is cliche

Everything that makes the Joker Joker is cliche

They took everything unique about the Joker and made him into your average high school nerd

Phoenix does a good job but it what it is.

Just booked my tickets for the first showing on Wednesday morning. I haven't been this hyped for a movie since Endgame.

Saw it earlier today. Just incredible

Saw Joaquin Phoenix for the first time in a movie called U-Turn back in '97 and thought he is going to be an incredible actor. I guess I was right

9/10

Well. It definately wasn't a comic book movie. But I loved it in it's own right as a drama.

He was a great joker -
In the end. And when they did the Dark Night Zimmer riffs at the end when Bruce's parents are killed i got chills. Excellent usage of that memorable track there

9/10

But with the addendum i don't really feel like it was a comic book movie.

Definately award bait. But award bait I feel is deserved worth the effort.

That scene was goooood shit dude

Also the scene with Joker in the police car was like a direct homage to Heath Ledger joker

Yep exactly what i thought.

Also:
His first meeting with Bruce was good too. I felt tension there, usually movies don't do that for me. Like i could feel the destiny between them two in the scene. Which is weird because I don't usually analyze movies like that but..there it is.

I know exactly what you mean

When Joker asks him his name and he says "Bruce"

<{jackyeah}>

Did anyone think it would have been a nice twist for Joker to have killed Bruce Wayne? Precisely because it's a stand alone film and we'll never get to see Batman in this universe (let alone him battling The Joker), so it would have made an interesting alternate turn of events if The Joker had prevented someone like Batman from ever existing without even knowing it. Nice bit of dramatic irony for us, the audience

Warner Brothers would never allow that

it is pretty interesting seeing whether fans want to picture the joker coming from a marginalized, bullied place or whether they want him to come from a deliberate, confident, insane-mastermind place

either way he was supposed to be a blue collar stick-up guy who fell in a vat of acid so none of this is canon to comic book lords

Side Note . I don't get the notion of some retards claiming that Joker will start in Incel violence surge. The character isn't some fucking video game , neckbeard making Dumabass posts . He was a working class dude with a condition that honestly manifested from possible repressed childhood PTSD that is battling inner demons while working in a shitty ass economy and a suport system that actually doing more harm than good. He snapped due to the conditions he was put through which triggers dark resolve he probably had no idea he had .

Minor mini rant since , I thought it was ridiculous that there were cops making rounds in the theaters bullet proof vest ad all . The goddamn media is to blame for that hysteria . That said I was packing , since they don't have metal detectors there anyways

This Joker is actually a CTE Joker

He suffered repeated blows to the head his entire life

Phoenix craps in ledgers mouth in terms of acting performance. He gets the oscar if there us any honesty left.

This movie was very good. The final 1/5th took it from a 10 to a 8.5-9 for me. His personality (talking style) and mannerisms "changed" near the end and it ruined what was a perfect groove. The movie was in perfect groove until then.

I have a joker sounding laugh, and I kept laughing at parts nobody else in the theatre was laughing at. I think it enhanced my experience. One hilarious joke literally flew right past everybody's head in the theatre, and I laughed for literally 3 minutes.

Anyways, this is probably the best movie of the year. It almost felt confined by it's ties to the rest of the comic universe at times. I would be emersed, and then a reminder would pop up that it wasn't something totally new, and it would annoy me. It is still one of the five greatest movies based on comic characters ever made.

8.5-9/10
