I can't believe they're still entertaining the idea of two different Joker movies. They really are just throwing darts at a board to pick these projects. Between this and Star Wars they are really butchering the hell out of some great source material. It's baffling

I don't think DC-WB are in it for the money for their comic book movies. I honestly think they don't want any connection from one DC movie to the other like Disney is doing with Marvel. Even though they did with Superman. I treat the recent Justice League movie as Man of Steel 3 by how they connected it with the first one. Other than that it seems like they produce a film for DC as a stand alone and movie and go on from there. Their comic book movies are just structured different which I don't mind. Marvel Disneys is great and all but too repetitive.

Really bizarre and counterproductive in my opinion.

Reminds me of when WB was courting Bale to play Batman in Batman vs. Supes but with the caveat that it would not be the same Batman from the Nolan films. Just a new Batman in a new chronology that happened to be played by the same person from the highly popular Nolan films...

Great actor and definitely capable of doing so. With the small budget, as well, it's in a position where it may be more likely to turn a profit than some of the tentpoles because it's a huge character and Phoenix really doing something great with it could get a lot of buzz.

He's great. Just saw the trailer for his new film with Jonah Hill and Rooney Mara. Looks like another vintage Phoenix awesome performance. Comes out this month I believe.

He's made quite a few films with Mara (three I can think of off the bat). They're together irl, no?
