John Danaher: “Khabib thicker, bigger, and heavier than GSP throughout career”.

People here were seriously telling me he was smaller than McGregor and Poirier, lol.

Khabib has a large neck. He's also taller than Conor.

I was watchin figgy smalls vs benavidez. Now that is a CLEAR case of a dude being way bigger than the other. You NEVER see that disparity in any of Khabib's fights, but you wouldnt know it with the crying like a newborn woman over size bullying, even though these nerds only go completley on the words of others who may or may not be lying anyway.

How devoted are you guys to this premise anyway? how come you dont cry and make babies about the notorious figgy smalls?

GSP won against Alves who was bigger.

Khabib can easily make weight at 170 pounds and fight there like Conor has.

Khabib looks like a bully here.

There doesn't seem to be any weight disadvantage for Khabib.

If Conor can fight at 170, then so can Khabib.

Irrelevant. I never argued wether he can make it or fight there like Conor. I simply said the size disparity between he and his opponents at 155 was negligble. Stay on topic.

Khabib retired.

So youll just have to live with his undefeated 29 - 0,and shrug and sadly shake your head as we point and laugh at those people who sit around stammering and yammering about how "he shoulda done this,or woulda lost that"

TOO BAD

I think GSP probably carries more Lean Body Mass, especially in his legs.

Khabib though had a wider frame for sure.

Dude has a damn tortoise shell for a back.
It's almost like pure grappler physique vs bodybuilder-athlete physique.

Khabib also gains more weight between fights, definitely carries more water weight and a little more fat.

Even in this picture they look almost same size and in almost every other staredown Gaethje was clearly bigger. Most importantly in their fight Gaethje was the bigger guy. Even if not by a lot

I love how Shertards in this thread know better than someone who has actually coached and trained with both GSP and Khabib, because Shertards have seen pictures...

Fuck him, motherfucker talking shit about Khabib just to make GSP look good.

Khabib is clearly smaller than GSP, not by much but still, Khabib almost never had reach or height adventage over his opponents.

I think gsp takes a dump on his chest but no way is fight night khabib bigger than fight night gsp

Gsp is a bit taller and definitely has the wider frame. Longer arms, broader shoulder.

But that does not mean he is much bigger than Khabib as so many are saying here.

Khabib is more built like Matt Hughes and people acted like GSP was much bigger than Hughes despite the fact, that in shape, in the cage they fought at basically the same weight.

Probably more of an excuse on why GSP wouldn't fight him.

GSP never wanted to fight anyone bigger than he was. I still remember laughing at an interview GSP gave saying Anderson was much bigger than him and that he was risking literal death in a fight against someone that size if the wrong thing happened. He was being serious...

I've never seen a guy that is so good at MMA have such a lack of confidence as GSP. All of the odd have to be in his favor.

According to Khabib's coach at one time, Josh Thompson, he said on fighter and the kid that khabib was 190+ on fight night.
Nurmagomedov was between 166-176 lbs as champion.

GSP and his camp are using Nurmagomedov's walk around weight (out of shape) and comparing that to GSP's cage weight; they did this exact same thing when people brought up GSP fighting Silva and his camp would cite Silva's walk around weight:

GSP: Anderson Silva "Is Huge" and Weighs "Around 230 Pounds"
https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/3/4/2030891/gsp-anderson-silva-is-huge-and-weighs-around-230-pounds

I'll just quote myself from my cage weight thread:
(2009) Georges St-Pierre: 188 lbs
(2020) Khabib Nurmagomedov: 176 lbs

Lol what? Khabib may have been heavier in between fights because he has terrible diet discipline and gets really fat, but in terms of frame and pure muscle georges was way bigger, especially on fight night. Khabib looked the same size or smaller than most his opponents on fight night
Muscle on the frame, sure, but bone structure, I can see Khabib being as big or bigger, that way.

Khabib cut more weight and went through a lot more hell to get down to his weight limit that GSP generally did, so I can see this being true, though, not by a large or significant amount, so this doesn't jump out at me as all that big a deal.

I like khabib a lot but I don't think posting that graphic with all the names helps his case. Better to just post his record as this may trigger people to ask who most of those guys are?

Khabib, imo, is one of the first dominant champs to bring the boxing type resume and philosophy to MMA and that is to have a mass number of wins over guys who are absolutely irrelevant, and then go on a much smaller run in the big leagues, capture some big wins and retire, while then pointing at the length of your unbeaten streak, hoping no looks deep and asks 'over who?'

And I don't blame Khabib for who he fought. What I am saying is that he needed to stick around longer in the big leagues and take on a bigger variety of tougher opponents because we all know that is when Champs get truly pushed. When every opponent is also one of the best and shows up their best on that night as this is their shot to win a title.
