Joey Beltran Says He Did Not Take Steroids Knowingly

Do you know if nandrolone taken orally shows up in piss tests at all? If we don't know this, then we can't rule out anything.

Yes because you test for a specific metabolite with a urine test. The metabolite is present no matter how nandrolone enters the body.

That would mean that he could have taken it orally, gaining no effect as far as performance enhancement, but still testing positive. This also means that explanations as far as tainted supplements are very real possibilities. It means that he didn't have to inject himself with it.

Neither did princess Cyborg Santos. Cyborg/Rousey needs to happen at 145.

Oral bioavailability of nandrolone is absolutely horrible. Something like <2%. There is actually an acceptable amount of nandrolone allowed on tests. So he would have had to exceeded that limit.

Odds are against ol' Joey.

I don't care about the odds. My only point is that people who are saying that this test result is absolutely conclusive evidence that Joey Beltran was without a shadow of doubt purposely and maliciously cheating and knowingly injecting himself with needles full of banned steroids, are wrong. To rule out all other possibilities, without us having ANY evidence of what really happened, is wrong.

Jesus christ everyone is a fucking cheater these days

..You're just now figuring this out? :icon_neut

How in the hell can you take steroids without knowing it?

Well, lots of heroin addicts do various fentanyls without knowing it and people eat all kinds of things (certain preservatives, or crap like HFCS) they know very little or nothing about. It's also possible it wasn't listed in a supplement (which would be illegal, since it's scheduled.) Devil's advocate, many people in East Germany were given steroids without their knowledge.

But yeah.. It's a stretch to say the least.

Just throwing this out there but supplement companies that stock stores such as GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and BB.com get raided all the time for possessing and distributing illegal substances. It's not a terribly uncommon practice to put a little extra pep in these products to cheaply boost the end user's perception of the product's efficacy. Yes, for the record, good ol' test is pretty cheap compared to a lot of the more popular supplements out there.

Hi-tech pharmaceuticals has been shut down and raided a couple of times if memory serves. They're also notorious for blatantly naming their OTC products after well-known steroids/cutters.

The biggest recall I remember was when Gaspari was in deep water for Novadex XT. I was working part time at a GNC at the time and I was pretty surprised given the product's popularity that it hadn't come up before.

My point is, the dude could be telling the truth. Who knows.

Wrong! They need to be fighters, and hire experts. Being a fighter takes 100 percent focus on fighting. They can't be doctors and scientist in their spare time, and it is ridiculous to think that they should. Going after the fighters is the wrong approach. IMO

However, in the end they are the one's held responsible, and they need to find experts that they can trust with their lives, and careers on the line.

Carlos Newton would beg to differ

So you feel, that even if someone took something accidentally, or got cross contaminated, or even if they were sabotaged, that the general public is in the right to call them f**king liars and say they 100% without any shadow of a doubt injected themselves knowingly with steroids and they purposely cheated and are cowards?

Obviously some people go overboard insulting the fighters, but I can't blame anyone for being upset when a popular fighter get busted. It's completely irrelevant how the steroids got into their system. It's illegal, end of story, regardless of your personal position on ped's. These guys are extreme athletes and some of them are going to want to take steroids for whatever reason . Let's be honest, you gotta be in serious denial if you want to give every fighter the benefit of the doubt.

Odds matter when considering all factors, just like you're doing with your open ended conclusion. But so be it.

As someone mentioned earlier, Bas Rutten had proposed a very simple and ingenious solution to the "tainted supplements" claims:

Have the person send in all the supplements he/she has taken to be lab tested.

If they refuse to do this while being adamant that their supplements are tainted, then they're full of shit.

Of course he didn't take it. His 'nutritionist' gave it to him. Those guys are everywhere and they are always on the cutting edge of giving their clients non-detectable stuff and/or making cycling programs.

I think this is a great idea actually.

Especially if it's something the UFC would share the cost for. I mean really it could prevent some of these problems.

Link to interview? I don't doubt your story, I just want to watch the video.

I wish i could, i read it either in ufc magazine or tapout or fighters only. lol it was a physical copy of a mazgaine i read at work and i do not posess the internet savvy to find it online.... believe me i tried

horse meat bro

also one time I was eating lucky charms i almost choked on the prize so maybe Beltron was just eating corn flakes and accidentally swallowed some steroids or something

im unaware of anyone ever taking nando in another form other than injection.

id be curious as to how it happened for him. im just too lazy to dig for the info.

There are no manufacturers of nandrolone for oral consumption because it is so rapidly degraded, so his story is highly dubious. The nandrolones that are injected aren't "normal" nandrolone. They are nandrolones which have had long carbon chains added (like Decadurabolin, which has a 10-carbon chain added to the nandrolone, thus the "deca") to make them soluble in oil and to increase their half-life in the body. As a result, though, these compounds aren't digested and pass through the body when taken orally. So this makes his story double-iffy, since it isn't even reasonable that he somehow unsuspectingly eating injectable form nandrolone.

Yes and I wasn't masturbating to that porn magazine it just flew in the window and opened up in front of me while I was picking some dust off my schlong.
