Joe Schilling sucker punching drunk guy

I am sure more people gets killed every year walking on streets than gets killed by a drunken happy manlet in a bar.

No, I just dont think you can claim self defence because a drunk guy yells at you in a bar. Joe was not in danger. Thats pure BS

I know I am strong enough to walk away from a situation like this.
450 people die every year falling out of bed. Whats your point?

That doesn't give you the right to blast someone, even if you think it does, people go to prison for shit like that. I don't know how all this street talk gets around of what's legal and what's not, there are people in 100% justified self-defense scenarios that still go to prison, you have to have a lot in your favor for a court to OK you KOing someone like that
Fight or flight response. There’s a reason why cops tell ppl not to make sudden movement.

I guarantee you that if the drunk guy was in a tank at Seaworld and there was a great white shark he wouldn't be yelling HAY and acting tough.
Lol the fact that you can't understand my post tells me you're either a friend of Joe, or Joe himself. If you seriously think this is grounds for launching punches at someone then you're not gonna last long in the real world.

Just bc he turned around doesn’t mean he did that to beat him up. He turns to confront him, then the drunk guy bucks at him. Did you completely shut your eyes during that part?
{<huh}
It's not self defence if you initiate the confrontation, which Joe did. He's also a professional fighter so held to a different standard in the eyes of the law. If this goes to court, he is fucked.

The most insane take in this thread is yours.
It's insane to think that if you yell and then buck up at someone like you're throwing a punch you deserve to get punched in the face? If that's how you feel I'm pretty content being on the opposite side of your argument.

sorry, you have to reasonably assume you are in imminent danger. the 120 lb guy saying he's going to kick shaq's ass doesn't mean shaq is in imminent danger.

here's a summary of california law.
https://www.bajajdefense.com/california-self-defense-laws/
Establishing Self Defense
In order to successfully establish that you acted in self defense, California law requires you to prove each of the following things:

  1. You had a reasonable belief that you were in imminent danger of suffering harm or death,
  2. You had a reasonable belief that using force was necessary to prevent such harm, and
  3. You only used an amount of force that was necessary to stop the threat.
Imminent Danger
Imminent danger means a threat that is happening right now at this very moment. Imminent danger must be current and immediate. Danger that is perceived to be an issue in the near future or at some other point in time will not be considered imminent.

You only have the right to justify the use of force or violence when danger is imminent.

So joe wanted to get hit?..

The threat was getting punched...established by the lunge or fake punch attack..

Notice schillings posture before the strikes...his hands are by his side and open...he only changes once the lounge occurs...why? Because that was the threat of violence moment..

What saying is like shaq or joe had to wait to receive damage to himself before justifying its a threat and thats not what the law says...

Thats like saying, you have to be stabbed by a knife wielding person before claiming self defense..thats not what the law says...

Threat of violence is just as valid as actual violence...

You got me.

Hey guys, it's me Joe Schilling.

The dude was invading a common walk way while intoxicated... And was in the way of someone walking by...he wasnt shoved in a violent manor lol...and joe was on his way out when he was yelled at from behind...im not gunna just keep my back turned to someone yelling at me..thats a good way to get cracked from behind and injuried or killed
Give up on your “dream” of ever fighting professionally. You don’t have the mindset for it. You sound like a bully just looking to prey on the weak.

Maybe cause the dude and that hose beast he was with were dancing up a storm?

Nowadays everyone basically records everything.

Very well could be as easy an explanation as that.. who knows. Camera man had the perfect shot lol

The planet is millions of years old, in comparison none of us will last very long in the real world.

try to keep up..
You said "So you're saying just walking down the street is dangerous? "
and I answered your question...

Nowadays everyone basically records everything.

Reminds me of a situation where a woman who instead wanted to film her unarmed husband getting into an altercation with 2 armed rednecks instead of diffusing the situation. The unarmed man had mental issues and attacked the rednecks and ended up getting killed. The video is blocked on here but you can you look at it on YouTube.

No... I just understand the law lol..

U cant provoke a violent situation and them claim u were assaulted...

Just like you cant go into a store and yell imma going blow this place up and not think.your gunna get charged with issueimg bomb threats...whether u had a bomb with u or not...or any real intent...this is the same..the dude puffed up and tried to flinch joe...thus threatening an altercation and got one...

So if you turn around an approach a person, that person has the right to punch you? Bc that’s what you’re saying. If joe turning around is initiating a physical confrontation then the drunk guy had the right to punch Joe? Again it’s fight or flight and the drunk guy bucks at Joe and he reacted and it’s all on video.
