Crime Joe pardons Hunter

Never read much into it but the balance of powers, it’s kinda just like a one branch veto. Congress made the law, a judge ruled and then the executive just says we won’t enforce it. It’s the complete opposite of what the branch is suppose to do. But again, didn’t read too much on it. It’s also only federal crimes so most people still have legal troubles with a state.

The president’s power to pardon is actually granted by the constitution.

Remember when this was brought up before and the Biden supporters here said Biden was never going to do that.

Like this really should surprise anyone.

They have veto powers though. The President can veto laws that come across their desk. Pardoning just undermines the justice system. And it is true if it is president or governor.

Like, why should the governor be allowed to let this guy go free?

I was only aware of the gun case. Had to look that up.1.4M, yea, fuck this guy. People should pay their taxes.
The gun case is neither here nor there. There isn't a serious punishment for it and it was only prosecuted to burn the clock.

I don't actually really care that he pardoned his son, and it would be pretty fucked up if he pardoned everyone he already has, plus all the other ones he'll give on his way out the door, and just told his own son to fuck off and go to prison, just don't feed everyone this "no man is above the law" nonsense to pretend you're not blatantly contorting the law to prosecute your opponents, when we all know there are a shitload of people who are above the law, and quite a few under it.

Would do the same and certainly not surprised.

But also the most fitting end to the worst rated President, the most obviously corrupt, and threat to democracy by weaponizing government.

Suck it libtards, how fucking dumb have you been for 4-5 years lmaoooooo

you must be shocked and appalled at blatant presidential corruption...

No he's definitely guilty but if Biden wasn't elected no one would've cared and yet at the same time despite that he was guilty and Joe ideally should've taken the L and moved on. Hard to ask when its .his son but that's the "right" thing to do.

Hunter is honestly asking for it so its hard to feel too sorry for him but lots of ordinary people commit lesser crimes that might look bad if you suddenly put a spotlight to them.

Just because those two things can be true doesn't mean they're always both true. In the case of the Jack Smith indictment for Jan 6th, the Georgia RICO case, and the documents case I think those were strong and if anything too careful about going after Trump. The other stuff I haven't looked into as much.
So then it wasn't a witch hunt.

Oh, I’m aware. I just think it’s odd when you consider it’s essentially overruling the other two branches. Not questioning its legality but the wisdom behind it.

Oh Gawd, January 6th? lol Nobody cheered that. Any retard who broke the law that day deserved to be punished.

They got to fall back on step 2 in situations after there is nothing to see here.

Deflection when there is something to see.

“offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.

So a blanket pardon, covering 10 years, of which any crime we do know and ones we don't know he committed yet. So if Hunter gets connected to a murder or something that took place during those 10 years, he can't be charged? Can you pardon someone for something they haven't even been charged with??

It's just such a weird mechanism, I really don't understand why the President would have powers to Pardon.

Anyone got any history on how it came about it the thinking behind it?

I mean, I thought he was going to do this but I wouldn’t say I don’t really care. Law is law and I don’t like the idea of descending into everyone is corrupt so I’m okay with corruption. That destroys order in the system. You just have to assess things as they come in and go off principle or what’s the point?

Might have this mixed up with something else but I believe a pardon for crimes not yet discovered hasn’t been tested before. Trying to look around.

Btw that's some next level grift:

-Get into office;
-Put your son to collect milions in foreign bribes;
-Retire happily.

It would be a shame if he spends it all on hookers and blow tho.
Money is toxic to people who live just to satisfy their basal desires.
I though we were pigeonholing sides here...anyways trumplicans have cheered Jan 6, paying off a whore, nepotism, getting billions from the Saudis via nepotism, abuse of power, etc etc...hell pick something
people getting hung up on the grimy shit politicians do for their own benefit are stupid because most of them on all sides do this.
People with common sense focus on which side’s policies and ideas are better for the country at the time.

There’s no moral high horse among that class of people and it’s just petty mud slinging that does nothing to improve our lives.
