What I despise are cocky fighters that can't accept defeat. Fighters who won't acknowledge the fact that their opponent was better than them.

It probably doesn't help Joanna accept the L that Fight Metric has her with more significant strikes than Rose in every round.

A lot of fighters lost close fights in the past and acted in a more graceful manner. It's not something beyond human capabilities really. Just accept your loss, try to learn from it and move on (IIRC in the post fight press conference she was claiming to be the queen of the division and that every strawweight should bow down to her, which would be silly even if she won the fight).

As a former Champion myself, I can see why the loss is hard for JJ to accept. I spent years of my life training day and night, being away from home and not seeing my family for months. Most people will never understand the dedication and sacrifice it takes to be the best, and how hard it really is to come to grips with the fact that someone out there is just plain better than you. Even now, Years after I lost my title, I can't come to terms with it. I never would of thought I would ever lose, and I still say that 12 year old was on something. Don't know what the judges saw, after re-watching it was clear Rose won rounds 1, 2, and 5, and Joanna the other two. But putting yourself in Joanna's shoes, she was landing more frequently, and even though Rose was landing the more significant shots, none of them were actually hurting Joanna so I can see why she wouldn't think those should have won Rose the rounds or the fight. It's not outrageous for her to honestly think she should have won, even though I don't think she did.
