the women at strawweight are much more skilled, explosive, athletic, and have a lot better fight IQ's than the women at BW. Just look at the last fight Joanna had. Valerie would easily be the 2nd best or champion at BW. She actually has elite skills, can strike, grapple, has athleticism, and really explosive, and doesn't fight like a rushing bull that has no fight IQ whatsoever. The former champ, Carla is a great wrestler, athletic, and is pretty smart in the cage. Claudia would easily be the champ if Joanna wasn't the champ. She has it all, and is like a more methodical, and measured Cyborg.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, most of the women at SW don't have the fast twitch muscle fibers of a pre pubescent boy, and are legit challenges to Joanna, and if the champ at SW was a one dimensional fighter that bull rushes, clinches, hip tosses, and goes solely for the arm bar, they'd have a filed day with her, and she wouldn't hold the belt for more than a single fight.
The SW division is like a legitimate men's division, except they're women. The BW division looks and feels like a women's division. Yes, it's because they are women, but I'm saying, the skill and athleticism at SW looks and feels like actual elite fighters that are all athletes, but they're women. Whereas at BW, they're exactly what you'd expect of women's fighters. Sloppy, low IQ, almost no athleticism besides a select few, and just overall a watered down, and bastardized product. The long reigning champ was a one dimensional Judoka that can't strike worth a lick, and with one move that her opponents couldn't figure out, or escape for God's sake. That tells you about the BW division.
The former BW champ, Ronda, had the striking of a junior high school boy that just started training boxing, and with absolutely no kicks, because she has no dexterity, her hips are too tight, no flexibility, and plods forward like a hippo.
P.S. I'm talking about when Ronda was the champ.
