Joanna did better than that..

Weili was outsized and outmatched in every single aspect. She is a hard worker, but Valentina is one of the most impressive WMMA athletes to ever compete. She is extremely precise, coordinated, and skilled. I thought it was impressive to watch.

Shes better in some ways. Not better in others. Theres several arguments in favor of weili. Two head to head wins. Closer rematch with rose. Better competition during her title reign. Lemos, suarez, yan and obviously JJ herself are better than penne, gadelha, letourneau and karolina

It's between Weili and JJ as far as SW Goat. Rose is somewhere below
I disagree I think gadelha and Karolina are better than lemos and Suarez

I've speaking this for a long time: this is the best Valentina'version ever

That doesnt necessarily mean shes better than weili overall
Well in their first fight, it was extremely competitive. So you can say they are/were close to equals.

I've speaking this for a long time: this is the best Valentina'version ever
She just does the same shit but they cant stop her hahahah

The stuff she does is too far ahead of the rest.

In her post fight, she said that Zhang and Andrade is the only fights in her career where she was bigger than her opponent.

Zhang had no chance hahaha

Style makes fights, Joanne and Val was mainly a Kickboxing match since Val already beat her 3 time she's pretty confident she can out match her on the feet, theres not much chance Joanne lands a big shot and KO's her so she coasted that one, that fight looked like a sparring match. Val said Welil is dangerous with good power that's why she took the safe route to victory.

well ask yourself a question.

Would valentina beat tate? ronda? pennington? Those are all the WBW champions bar nunes.

I still think even at WBW I'd favour valentina against anyone who held the title and anyone who has fought for it.
Most likely yes to all of them, would had beat Pennington easy, or Peña again.

Well, Joanna is the SW GOAT and the second best striker in W UFC history.

Interesting fact: Val has now beat 3 champions who were attempting to become two division champions.
So basically Val is padding her record with smaller girls she can overpower? coz I didnt see any of that shit against the bigger Nunes, Maybe size is the only thing that matters in womens divisions

Nunes literally fought Val twice and *beat* her twice

Nunes literally fought Val twice and *beat* her twice
thats what I am saying at the highest level its seems the heavier woman just wins by default unlike the mens divisions. Nunes beat val twice being bigger and val beat 3 SW being bigger

Watching the fight, two things were apparent about Weili:
1. She’s used to being the one taking her opponent down, and being on top. It kind of showed in the first round of the Suarez fight as well, but then Weili was able to impose herself after that. Seriously, what was she doing in camp? She looked completely unprepared to be taken down by a judoka, and clueless what to do on her back.
2. She’s hasn’t faced an elite counter striker ina long time, either. Seriously, what was her team doing this entire camp?

I was frustrated watching Fatima Kline. In those clinch exchanges, Joanna woulda been FEEDING her opponent elbows to mouth and eye socket
She probably could have finished Hill, but didn’t start pouring it on until the last twenty second. Good win, but it;s not like Hill was coming off a long win streak, and Kline wasn;t in a hurry at all
how?

Manon is the best fighter there, she is a patently better fighter than Weili. It's not wild at all.

Weightclasses exist for a reason. Weili was just a slightly more game andrade. Manon is the most physically gifted of those fighters, hence why she did the best.
Rubbish. How many UFC caliber fighters has Manon finished? One. Jasudavicius. Leonardo was never UFC caliber, and the Ricci fight was a bad joke. Weili won a title off a finish twice, and has finished former champions. Submissions, punches, elbows, knees. Weili is for more complete a fighter than Manon.

Fiorot is a one dimensional striker who relies entirely on her physical attributes, and is boring. Hell, I’d argue she’s more boring than Valentina, because at least Valentina is boring in multiple fields.
It’s wild because all of those women were so underestimated when they came in to fight Valentina. No one was giving Santos or Grasso a chancewhereas people were generally picking Zhang to win. What I’m trying to emphasize that this completely went against our prior expectations before the fight. MMA is truly an unpredictable sport
Some were picking Zhang, but she was still the betting underdog going in, and the overall underdog as well, since she was moving up.
I still think JJ retired early. She could've added depth.

Now might be a good time for Val to call it.

That was the biggest legacy name she could've fought.
I think she retired at the right time. Two massive KOs in a couple of years, plus sustained damage in the first Zhang fight.
I've speaking this for a long time: this is the best Valentina'version ever
Sadly, it’s also the most risk averse version ever.
Zhang did better than Joanna by knocking her out cold so...
You just ignored the entire discussion of styles make fights, and the discussion was about facing Shevchenko. Congrats on acting dumb, I guess

Hell no.

Current Valentina is so much more flat footed because she knows she's older and can't waste as much energy like she used to. Zhang isn't really a good fighter from the outside, and her striking isn't really good enough to get her on the inside, so Val didn't have to do much to keep her at range. When Val is pushed, her footwork goes almost completely within 2.5 rounds nowadays, to the point where she usually just stands there on the spot waiting to go for counters. It's still good and too much for pretty much everyone she's fighting except for Manon who was barreling past it and forcing clinches.

Prime Valentina wouldn't have gotten touched by a 1-2 fighter who only goes in a straight line like Manon lol. She sure as shit wouldn't have gotten caught in extended clinches.

Prime Valentina was running rings around girls, not getting touched, and doing whatever she wanted int he clinch. Current, old and declining Val is still amazing and too good for her division and way more skilled than anyone at BW as well, but Prime Val would kick current Val's ass badly.

Yeah I ignored the discussion because there's no discussion here. Did jj look better losing to val than Zhang 100% ts and you win. Did Chandler look better beating hooker that poirier also 100%. TS isn't interested in talking about styles they just want to say jj is better than Zhang.
So congrats on being a dick and being dumb i guess.

Just a bad style match up in general. Joanna is more technical and is comfortable from range. Not to mention she has fought Val before in another sport.

Zhangs bread and butter is mid and inside fighting. Needs to go forward to throw down and to bully her opposition. She's been working on her grappling obviously. Probably a lack of experience over purely size when it comes to grappling imo

Zhang fought the same way throughout the fight and that's probably her biggest mistake during the fight. Should have switched up game plans the moment it became abundantly clear game A wasn't working
