umm hes actually been a black belt for quite some time now. the only reasons he didnt get promoted is because he rarey(although sometimes) trains in the gi, and his head bjj instructor(guys at att) lives in florida while he lives in washington.
Turtles are worthless on their backs. If they lose top position they're screwed. Everyone knows that.
You have two BJJ tattoos and you're a blue belt?

An 8-year blue belt is probably an 8-year blue belt because they lack the desire and dedication to train regularly. Unless it's extenuating circumstances, chances are they aren't too serious about BJJ and take long periods of time away from it. Not saying always, but you should be able to get to purple if you've been training consistently for 8 years.

I liked your cookies.
Well, BJJ comes from Judo, which is Japanese, and most Japanese nouns are written in Chinese characters, so....
edit: for the record, the above post wasn't showing for some reason when I made this post. And for some reason I couldn't even see my own post for a long time after I made it.
Why would you ever have to be a black belt to get a BJJ tattoo? Why do you have to be an elite level? Why cant you just enjoy BJJ a lot? Why couldnt someone who considers BJJ a life changing experience get a tattoo? And why cant a white, blue or purple belt be focused enough on BJJ that they know they are down for life? Most of the people (not referring to you whatsoever when I say this, so dont take offense) that cast judgments about tattoos, or make "the rules" for who should be getting what do not understand tattoo culture or are trying to place their own values and meaning on them, when in fact its a personal thing. Im a blue belt. Ive put everything in my life, bands, school, touring, working, etc on the back shelf for jiu jitsu. Why? Because I like it a lot and want to live it rather than just do it. So if a black belt doesnt like it, we can roll. He might beat me, but Ill still have a triangle tattooed on my arm, and Ill still be having more fun than him.
