Jiu Jitsu helps the smaller man lolol

I literally said the takedowns were wrestling, as soon as they were on the ground it was his BJJ at work. Wrestling doesn't involve much groundwork outside of the US (and even there that's only really the case at collegiate wrestling). Not to mention the fact that he doesn't have a wrestling background.

Jan literally did nothing except use strength and control .. classic MMA- Wrestling lay a pray.. with some striking for 2 rounds .. the same as Coleman , Severn, brock and couture did before him .. it’s what u learn day one of MMA .. it’s the basics .. and that goes to prove how horrible Izzys ground game is ..
If Jan is this wonderful multiple times mundial champion BB, he would have subbed him win a couple of minutes, given the opportunity Izzy was giving him

Izzy was doing some weird drunken master taunting and got taken down during it. Really dumb.
It wasn't dumb. He was trying to bait Jan into a brawl to counter him. Rightfully so because Adesanya was slowly but surely losing tge decision. It could have worked had Jan not timed those takedowns perfectly.

Hey bro.. do some BJJ... eat the açai bro

Against someone who doesn't know it.
Not against someone bigger who is better than you at it.

U train against ppl bigger than ur self all the time in BJJ .. the only time u see that sort of domination is a against a white or blue belt

He didn't dominate
He controlled and layed on top. Wrestling 101 not even much BJJ needed with 20 pounds weight advantage.

Izzy is a striker not a grappler. Strikers often have their bodies adapt to favor striking techniques and will always have trouble grappling.

Royce won using Gracie Jiu Jitsu. There’s a difference.

No there isn't. The only people that say dumb shit like that are people that never trained and are desperate to look for any excuse to bash jiu jitsu. Its mount , side control, back mount. Mix and match and go from there. Position then submission . Thats all there is to it and I can't tell you how cringey it is when you say stuff like you just did . Its incredibly corny and dumb

Lmao ok bro. Go ask the Gracies they’ll tell you different.

Yes. In fact you do and all the time . Weight matters when everything else is equal.

We have a guy in our gym who is 6'8" and about 350lb. When he was a white belt and I had my purple I had no issue controlling him. Now he's a high level blue and im still a purple and its a different story all together.

at this point jiujitsu is less a vital part of MMA than taekwondo. it's a good hobby for little kids and CM Punk though

Cm punks Slothitsu is not BJJ haha

If you actually bother to train or even take a free intro class instead of bashing jiu jitsu online, you'll immediately see that techniques you are taught are clearly defined as self defense or sport jiu jitsu. No one is going to do a briembolo in a street fight, but anyone who has at least 1 year of bjj training will no a basic takedown or two and EASILY be able to hold an assailant in at least side control if not full mount. Im still only a purple belt but there is no scenario I can imagine against an untrained attacker where I won't easily be able to do that.

For all the complexities and nuances of BJJ , all of that is wasted against an untrained opponent. All you need are the very basic positions and the most rudimentary subs . Everything beyond that is to help you against other trained opponents

Ok that is 10 or so Kilo’s. That kind of weight disparity is not
That bad. I roll with guys 20 kilo’s heavier and wrestle them and the weight advantage is there but not insurmountable.

Jan used plenty of BJJ on the ground. From his cross framing and breaking down of Izzy’s posture.

You guys shitting on Izzy need to stop he did what he could vs a well versed Black Belt.

In saying that Jan fought a magnificent fight. War Polish Powa!!

200 pound purple belt was controlled on the ground by ~220 pound black belt.

Shocker.

As long as you predicted or acknowledged the fact beforehand then it’s all good.

If not. Well I don’t want to hear this shit now. It was all.. Izzy is so fast, and the best striker ever, we goin to the Matrix baby..

Grappling was always going to play heavily into Jan’s gameplan. He said so repeatedly. But, don’t expect me to cry about a man using every legal tool in his means to beat a worthy opponent. Jan was always the bigger more rounded mma fighter. If you didn’t see it before the fight. Well, now you know.

You’re clueless lol

Imagine being here for years and still being so clueless about grappling..
