Jiu Jitsu helps the smaller man lolol

at this point jiujitsu is less a vital part of MMA than taekwondo. it's a good hobby for little kids and CM Punk though

It's MMA and striking - with a size difference - makes up a lot.

Beside isn't Jan a Black belt?

Izzy is a regular purple.

Only if there’s no punching involved

Wasn't there punching allowed in the UFCs that Royce easily won ?

Honestly I get the jealousy of people who don't train bjj putting it down any chance they get , but as far as it working against an untrained opponent is pretty much proven beyond any doubt now.

Jan is a smaller purple belt going against a much bigger legit black belt. What do you expect to happen?

Royce won using Gracie Jiu Jitsu. There’s a difference.

It's borderline impossible to GnP KO someone with BJJ knowledge if you don't have any at all yourself. That said a little bit of sub/sweep defense and a big size difference changes up things definitely.

It doesn't work like that when the bigger guy is also better at jiujitsu. Jan is a black belt and started BJJ before Adesanya hit puberty.

a decent purple belt shouldn’t be that owned by a bb

I know you're trolling, but in case someone else reads this, Jan got his BB in 2017, while Adesanya is a fresh purple. He also outweighs him by about 20lbs. He also started BJJ about 20 years ago, before Izzy did any kind of fighting. Lol.

Sub defense might be the easiest thing to learn, but it's the most important thing to know for MMA. In fact, although boxing and wrestling are the best bases for MMA, neither of them are necessary to know. Meanwhile with only muay thai and BJJ you could become an MMA mighter.

You're dissing the martial art that is the best when you can't cross train and claim to be an MMA fan? Do you say this stuff against your BJJ coach as well or? Do you train at all?

Doesn’t matter .. no purple belt of equal size (yes they r fighting at the same weight class) .. lays out flat on there back like that doing nothing .. that’s some white/ early blue belt shit ...

What was Jan doing when he took down Israel and dominated for two rounds? I'm pretty sure that wasn't boxing.

BJJ takedowns are the weakest part of the sport ..
he trains modern MMA , basically means he’s training sub wrestling at this point

I literally said the takedowns were wrestling, as soon as they were on the ground it was his BJJ at work. Wrestling doesn't involve much groundwork outside of the US (and even there that's only really the case at collegiate wrestling). Not to mention the fact that he doesn't have a wrestling background.
