The man show was great!

Zicke Zacke, Zicke Zacke, Hoi Hoi Hoi

After the man show, this guy has just been awful. Who watches this guy, and why?!

What he said was pretty tame. Plenty of media personalities who are serious political commentators make false claims that misinform the American public on matters that are far more firmly objectively established than the shooter's politics, and not only are they not taken off the air, but they are allowed to repeat that misinformation on a daily basis.

I can't stand what Kimmel's show had become, it wasn't funny, just like Seth Myers and Colbert's shows, they were atrocious, but I don't believe in cancel culture. It's the bane of our culture right now.

Yet as a consolation at least I can relish in watching all of the lefty loonies that put cancel culture into overdrive suddenly recoiling with horror as they realize, yes, when you don't speak up for someone's right to say something you don't like, not even as a matter of incarceration pertaining to the First Amendment, but for the social virtue of being able to freely express ideas with a divergent viewpoint, well, it isn't long before they come for you.

Free speech absolutists F off pants on fire. My reaction get better. I hear millions of subs where canceled already. I don't give a sh#t about Marvel movies and Disney flicks ether goodby. I was paying for the premium bundle so that makes for nice savings.

Just curious- are you left wing or right?

Because now both have good reason to hate Disney. It's one of the few stances a person can have that doesn't immediately tip their hand on everything else they believe.

From what I've read Nextstar was in the process of cancelling him before the FCC even said anything. So they didn't really have much to do with this at all it seems.
Like a Colbert situation where the ratings are down but we have to gaslight people if we're going down?

He literally killed them. Gone .

Oh wait , it's 2025 and these guys have dozens of platforms they can openly spew nonsense on with 0 repercussions. Derp
Too bad, the left can't podcast. God knows the world doesn't need more Hasan Piker.

Late night shows are going away because they aren't making money anymore. They are just using this excuse to get rid of Jimmy Kimmel I think if he didn't say anything they wouldn’t renew his show anyway like Stephen Colbert.. Seth Myers is most likely next on the chopping block.

olberman called for trump to be assassinated. kirk said biden should be executed for his crimes. huge difference. obviously that would happen after a trial, etc.

If memory serves, Olberman was being cheeky and contests he was doing that. It seems pretty obvious he was suggesting Trump be killed or something along those lines, so I agree that he said that and should be condemned for it. I think the same is true of Walz making a joke about Trump's health.

Kirk saying Biden should be executed for his crimes was not "better" than that.

im glad the show is gone because it was late night slop and Kimmel is not funny
but ABC/MAGA getting buttmad over a statement that isnt even that offensive is pretty funny too

all in all im glad both Kimmel fans and MAGA people are all mad. it makes for good schadenfreude.

This is exactly how I feel. This is why I have to gently remind people that hate speech is protected speech. Many, many people have smirked and jeered, spouting "Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom of consequences" like a spring-loaded toy being handed out. For many leftists here, this occasion will show to them--- well, yes it does. Or rather it should. And right wingers should not be happy about this. You always need to look at any use of power that happens to be fortuitous for you and your worldview, and assume that at some point that same pressure will be applied to you and yours. If you don't like that hypothetical, you shouldn't like it in the actual, even if it happens to work in your favor.

All the people who support Trump--- what do you think Gavon Newsom will do if he's elected in 4 years? Do you think he's going to tell everyone we all need to cool the temperature or do you think he'll ante up? Don't think he'll get elected at all? Think Trump will live forever? Even if Vance wins, think about what kinds of things you want to see in twelve years when things likely shift back to Democrat control.

Thing is as far as I know Jimmy Kimmel wasn't even celebrating or reveling in Charlie Kirk's death. He said it was a MAGA person. Maybe he actually believed that. Or maybe he was doing that thing that tons of people in this forum have been doing-- lying to deflect. I don't think anyone in Sherdog deserves to lose their job over that. I don't think Kimmel does, either.

And as the above post already mentioned there are already much more serious infringements that go unanswered.

I'm almost certain that Kirk would not want this to be happening.

I think it's a money thing. Look at the daily show, it has an audience that's a mere shadow of it's glory days. Partisan television is dying (tv is dying). The audience is a fraction of a fraction of a fraction, split on ideology and then age and then access.

I don't know what's funnier, the right canceling everyone after crying about cancel culture for all these years, or the left crying about being canceled after canceling everyone for years.

The modern world is one giant, never-ending episode of South Park.

I don't think Kimmel is a cancel culture issue, I think it's a first amendment issue.

Kimmel is an entertainer. If he'd said something offensive on his show and his show was canceled because he'd hurt ratings, I wouldn't have a problem with that. That isn't what happened here. This was the FCC applying pressure across the network to target Kimmel for political speech.

Gutfeld talks almost exclusively about Democrats the same way Kimmel spoke about conservatives, and I have never called for him to be fired.

What happened to him was wrong but these left wing idiots can't complain. They've spent years trying to cancel anyone who disagrees with them despite being warned of the consequences.
That's the best part. I guess they were too busy owning the chuds to heed that warning. Ah' well...

the left should boycott disney. Make disney wolrd great again.

FBI literally had operation attic frost that targeted conservatives, including Kirk and Turning Point

There really is no reconciliation with these fascists. They target, censor, cancel, deplatform, weaponized the justice system, the IRS, the FBI and DOJ.

Oh and now they have crocodile tears. Go fuck yourself

Oh' yeah, there was certainly an element of "We finally have an excuse to fire this money pit" going on here.

Kimmel is an unfunny can and his show should be canceled on entertainment principles alone.

Canceling him/it for the apparent comment is snowflake bullshit. America is a gong show.

He didn't even say what they're claiming, these people are just deranged and dishonest.

Frothing at the mouth psychopaths like the rage zombies from 28 days.
