He said that MAGA people were opportunistically latching onto the fact that someone who was not one of them murdered another person. Which is a way of pointing out the obvious: each political side expresses outrage and weaponizes the injustices committed by the other against ones own, selectively.

This is not false, or wrong, or disrespectful. It's simply trivial and stupid. Both left and right does it. Saying this is anodyne at worst and I'm very confused as to why he's being fired. He never mocked Kirk or his death, he critiqued the selective political use of his death by MAGA supporters.
