Social Jimmy Kimmel gets Canceled

Do you think 'The Jimmy Kimmel' show should have been cancelled?

My thing about this is that if his show was cancelled because of bad ratings than that's fine.

But if it was because the FCC / Brendan Carr and Donald Trump forced Disney / ABC their hand sort of sense than that's not good.

We shouldn't have the government censoring people just because they have differing views.

Or the other story I'm hearing is ABC waited for a excuse to remove Kimmel, so using the FCC and Trump threats as a way to give a reason to cancel him.

But anyways let's see what the numbers will look like.

Is your reading comprehension really this bad or are you just dishonest? How on earth is saying Robinson was MAGA, defending him?

I refer you to my answer above. Even though Saint Charlie spoke passionately in saying hate speech doesn't exist, his disciples must act as though it does, to stop those of us less invested in His Memory and Legacy from living out his own words. If you're confused, you should be. Cognitive dissonance on a grand scale, the mass self-delusion it requires, is a hell of a paradox to try and wrap your head around.

I mean, the guy went out of his way to offend folks mourning a popular political/social speaker and spread conspiracy theories about the shooter which were wrong, then tried to make the kid out to be a victim of MAGA propaganda.

Yeah, fuck him. Good riddance.

That's fine, but do you hold the same standards to Republicans who lie about events / things as well?

Does he have to? He might not think all views are equal.

If you want a balanced argument than I believe so. And yes all views are not equal, but in general sense of things these standards should apply equally. That's my take on it.

He assumed and stated that the person that killed Charlie Kirk was MAGA. Or that’s what I’m reading online. This was obviously prior to the evidence coming out.

No he didn't. He said MAGA was trying to score points off the murderer by pointing out he was not one of them.

The point is that MAGA people care about the fact that this guy was dating a trans person and was a leftist more than the fact he murdered somebody. He's saying there is a hypocrisy and opportunism.

Which is of course true, though the left does the same. It was a dumb and unfunny point.

I don't see anything that warrants Kimmel to be cancelled here, however. Anyone who applauds this is a knee-bending nimrod.

He said that MAGA people were opportunistically latching onto the fact that someone who was not one of them murdered another person. Which is a way of pointing out the obvious: each political side expresses outrage and weaponizes the injustices committed by the other against ones own, selectively.

This is not false, or wrong, or disrespectful. It's simply trivial and stupid. Both left and right does it. Saying this is anodyne at worst and I'm very confused as to why he's being fired. He never mocked Kirk or his death, he critiqued the selective political use of his death by MAGA supporters.

I agree with this.
