Keep in mind I disagree with the FCC claims of “news distortion” here — there is an interesting argument to be made in all of this.Dude none of this matters. The fact is the FCC threatened the ABC which is a violation of the constitution. What sinclair and nexstar did does not change that.
I think we can all agree people are generally morons.
How many people actually DO watch Kimmel and take what he says as truth which later informs their belief systems? I would say a lot — or I guess as many as actually tune into his shitty show.
Is there any responsibility for people who speak openly false information during highly contentious times to not do so? I would say it’s a very fine line. He’s a “comedian” I guess but this monologue wasn’t comedic. He has taken very non-comedic stances in the past which were also spreading misinformation.
Obviously a slippery slope as what is “true” isn’t always objective.
Just interesting overall.
